It's a terrible thing for public policies that gender and sexual orientation information is still being ignored on the census. And while the push for this has been recent, sit bears repeating that this has never being included in the questionnaire, so this administration is guilty of not being progressive towards lgbtq rights in this instance, not for being regressive. The political climate was probably ripe for this topic to be included and public opinion probably hadn't matured enough for the last census, so it's a bit larger transgression here than past administrations.
Maybe in 10 years...
It should also be repeated that this isn't the point. I don't really get how some of you are not getting this.
