Trump campaign releases 'First 100 Days' ad

Funny enough I just saw this ad on MSNBC lol.

Also how is appointing Gorsuch an accomplishment? That's McConnells accomplishment more than anything.

Don't forget they broke senate rules to confirm him. He had no where near the required 60 votes.

Its not a win for Trump, regardless.

I really don't get this 100 days shit I see the left pushing. I know we want to make the ma look incompetent, but 1) no president gets half the shit they campaign on done. That's good. People vote for dumb shit. 2) I really don't think you want to argue that Trump isnt moving fast enough.

Stop it.

The "left" isn't pushing this, nor is the "media".

Trump said it himself, campaigned on it himself. Moreover, politics in the US historically has 100 days as an unofficial mark where people assess how a campaign establishes/asserts itself. That's just reality in this dimension, not any creations of any groups on any side. It's totally fair and reasonable for people to judge/assess him based on those terms, especially since he's chosen to literally release a commercial assessing himself on them. It would also be fair and reasonable for anyone in any political group to ask "has he done what he says he would do"...since that's literally politics on Earth/how it works. Nobody should be asking concerned questions about that like they didn't know that's fair game...

the left didnt release this ad.

he promised a ton would get done before day 100. hes accomplished almost none of it
Yeah, every president has played this dumb "day one I'll do x" shit for my entire life. To be honest, the man has done enough damage in 100 days to impress me (God can you imagine if Obama had put out as many executive orders?) and terrify me. I just think it's a dumb attack to take. You're not convincing anyone that he's an awful president or a liar by it. No one really cares. The man lies about real facts. He has a team trying to mince words to try and construe how he may not have lied every single fucking day. You don't even need to go full out "well you didn't literally accomplish what you said" to attack him.

Edit: I've seen a shitload of stuff from the left pushing this "has he accomplished what he said?" Question. I assume this ad is just a response.

And...disliked. I wish those dislike numbers would be higher, but I don't think that'll happen. Too many of his supporters just lap up his bullshit and ask for seconds.

Well, his administration has been pushing it, as well:

President Donald Trump has dismissed the idea of measuring the success of his first 100 days in office as “ridiculous.” But the president and his top officials have made a number of startling moves this week with the deadline in mind, and Trump has privately obsessed over getting a win before the cutoff.

The last-minute moves have frustrated some of Trump’s allies, caused a scramble across his government and proved once again that decisions are made by one man on his whims — and often with an eye to his media coverage. . .

Trump’s promise last Friday to deliver a tax plan within five days startled no one more than Gary Cohn, his chief economic adviser writing the plan. Not a single word of a plan was on paper, several administration officials said, and Treasury officials worked all weekend to draft a one-page summary of his principles because the president promised a Wednesday news conference.

“The reason your head is spinning on this is that the plan isn’t even written yet,” one senior White House official said this past week, as conflicting details emerged about what would be in the plan. “This was all about doing something in the first 100 days and really it’s doing the process backwards.”

When White House officials demanded the week before that a health care vote take place by the 100-day mark, Speaker Paul Ryan, who was traveling in Europe, was taken aback. The leader of the House of Representatives wasn’t in on the plan, had no desire to vote this week and feared it wasn’t even possible. No one even knew what the bill would say because the language had not been written.

“It was totally insane,” one senior GOP aide said. “It made no sense. There was no reason to say a vote was happening this week.”

Like yes "100 days" is a dumb arbitrary thing. But:

1. Trump oriented huge promises around the "100 days" that he has accomplished none of
2. Because of recesses and holidays, in a 4 year term of a president they really only have 18 ish months of legislative time to get shit done. Wasting 100 days of that time flailing around wildly while accomplishing nothing is actually significant.
3. This has actually legitimately been the worst "100 days" any modern president has ever had.

And...disliked. I wish those dislike numbers would be higher, but I don't think that'll happen. Too many of his supporters just lap up his bullshit and ask for seconds.

I think he has bots on his twitter/youtube/facebook pages. They do nothing but throw out likes.

Clicking and watching that felt dirtier than anything I've needed incognito mode for. Also, no mention of the travel bans.

Why hide? I'll proudly downvote. If it sees more negative votes than positive it'll annoy the hell out of him. Everyone needs to do it.

A campaign ad after 100 days in office. But who am I kidding? He has had rallies within no time. Any time now Comey... any time now.

I want to be angry but then I look at the comment section and Trump supporters will defend anything about this man.

This shouldn't be real life. No one should be allowed this much power. His voters are like a gigantic cult who will follow him off the edge of a mountain if he said so.

They are actually attributing the 500 000 jobs added to Trump?

What is this warped reality you insist on living in, America?

Trump sees the presidency as nothing but advertising for his brand/himself. That's it guys. That's the reason he got into it. He has no deep feelings about "making America great again".

It's nothing but building his brand, and it's evident to anyone with a brain when you look at how he holds his interviews, buying these ads, still holding rallies.

Has a president ever run an ad like that? This is pathetic

I don't think so, the 100 day barometer is something that the media holds onto mostly. The fact that this exists is a testament to the sadness in his life.

when you're president and need to spend $1.5 million on ad to prove you aren't a colossal failure

No, this isn't about him as a president...

President Donald Trump's re-election campaign unveiled a $1.5 million ad Monday to highlight his first 100 days, pushing back on criticism that his presidency has gotten off to a sluggish start.

..this is about him as a candidate.

Trump has been so fixated on "winning" his entire life that he needs "yes men" around him to tell him he's doing a good job. If these "yes men" ever snapped and gave him a reality check, it would rock Trumps world to the point he could have a brain aneurysm

No one told Trump to campaign on a 100 day promise that he brought up multiple times during rallies and in campaign literature.

The "first 100 days" assessment in media for prior presidents was always a kind of overview or early report card for how things are progressing, it's never been used as a drop-dead date for legislation.

There was zero outcry over Obama needing more than 100 days for ACA, in fact, most Republicans criticised the 14-month process as being "too brisk." Trump was the one stubbornly promising to reform health care on day one and firing off a half-baked proposal under no time restraints other than his self-imposed ones.

Last I checked his "100 Day Contract" was still up on his site along with all his promises so...

Like people can say the first 100 days are meaningless if they like, but his entire campaign was full of first 100 day promises and they're still right there on his website free for anyone to see.

Moreover the first 100 days is still incredibly relevant as far as general approval ratings go and having leeway to pass more legislation that would otherwise be difficult politically. If the ceiling for his popularity really only is as high as his inauguration goes, then what good is there to expect of the rest of his time as president. Sure the GOP might eventually get its shit together, but one must remember that legislation next year will likely slow down considerably as it's an election year for a number of seats. Getting tied to some shit legislation vote in 2018 would be awful. Shit like "They'll pass a healthcare bill eventually" only stands as long as it's 2017. None of those dudes will bother in 2018 during elections to what could be a poison pill to their candidacy.

I couldn't resist making a gif of this part, it just looks so goofy.

Bonus gif with captions, though to be frank I'm not feeling it.

Hey, look.

A campaign promo.

Because that's all the fucking guy knows how to do.

Still convinced he didn't really want the job. He just wants to hold rallies where people cheer him on and talk about how the election was stolen from him from "crooked Hillary".

He has no real interest in being President. He's a sideshow clown.

Trump has been so fixated on "winning" his entire life that he needs "yes men" around him to tell him he's doing a good job. If these "yes men" ever snapped and gave him a reality check, it would rock Trumps world to the point he could have a brain aneurysm

It also goes along with the story that the people around him shield him from negative news about him.
