Tumbledrop iPhone out Friday

Well, I'd like to review this - to counteract the prat who claims that the reviews are fake - but the store won't let me. It says that I haven't purchased the game when, in fact, I have. Not your fault, clearly, but know this: I tried.

Same thing happened to me. (Germany)

I'm in the US and it's also giving me the bullshit about not being able to review it because I don't own it. What the fuck! Tell that to the copy on my iPhone!

Excellent game! I've been hammering it all weekend, trying to get the star and heart medals.

I have a question, though - on some levels, the number of moves for the heart medal is larger than the number of yellow blocks (for example, beginner 11 and 16). Am I missing something significant here? Can you perform "move" without making a block disappear?

Nice game, bought it. I like the concept and the graphics are great too.

Same bug on level 21 though.

Im very curious about the sales as well :)

People can help him with his review score. Just erase the app on your iPhone, review the game and redownload it.

I've bought a lot of iPhone games lately but I'll try yours. It's not that expensive and graphics are so cute.

I received my first 1 star review today (uk store), because the game crashed. Pretty harsh, but I guess that's just how the iphone app store works. I hope that review doesn't cause me many lost sales though.

First off, great game.

Can I assume this crashing was unknown to you before it hit the store? It seems to quite prevalent (based on this thread), and my own copy.

really fun game, but I can't get by level 21 (the first medium one with two balloons), because every time I restart the game locks up.

but otherwise, money well spent. :)

Sales are going okay, but could be better! I'm going to keep pushing the game, and do updates and new levels. I'm only ranked 136 in the Puzzle Game category so far, so I need to work hard to raise that. Maybe it'll improve when I release a demo.

I think there's something weird where you have to review it on the device you purchase it on. If you buy it via the phone, you have to review it via the phone. I think that's the case - I can't quite figure it out either!

Yeah, that crash bug completely snuck through the testing! D: It's killing me!

I think the last few test runs of the game, people beat those crashing levels first time. I found out about it a couple of hours after it went live, and I uploaded a new build within 12 hours, but it hasn't been reviewed yet (I don't think they review things at the weekend, for starters).

The game is structured in a way that you can skip the crashing levels, but then you still are limited to 40 levels.

Ah, that was the other bug that was fixed with the update. Sorry! Some old level scores ended up in the release build by mistake. I'm glad you're enjoying the medal challenges though. :)

Bought this Sunday and had a little go on quick play, intend to get into it more this week. It seemed really easy at first, but I can see how it could get difficult. The whole design is hugely appealing and I hope it's a big success. :)

Just wanted to drop by between all the 500 ISE's that GAF seems to have at the moment to say that I bought and love your game! I was surprised and pleased to see it under the "Hot New Games" section, and recently submitted a review. There's a level of polish here that I find a lot of games lack.

I wish you the best success in all your pursuits, and anxiously await information on your next projects!

Thanks Nintendo Playstation, I'm really glad people are enjoying the game, and the reviews make a big difference to my chances of this being a success. I tried really hard with the polish, and I wanted to make something akin to a console game rather than the typical iphone quality game.

Wait, what? o_o Which country?

Included this in my weekly round-up of the "latest" games (aptit, which is swedish for "appetite"). Gave it a "yes" (my review scale for this project is "yes", "no" and "if...").

Love the game. It's like eating sugarcoated rainbows with your eyes.

Happy this got fixed, I was wondering why I was 1 move away from getting a heart on some levels.

Not a game breaker but on the level select screen the heart counts over 10 are displayed wrong. 10 is shown as 00, 13 as 03 etc.

I'm currently stuck trying to star beginner level 14, it's my last medal in the beginner group and it's driving me mad! Heeeelp!

I just did this one. Remove the high up upsidedown triangle on the right, then remove the bottom jutting shape on the left. The star should land on a triangle if you time it right. Remove that, and you're done.

Nintendo Playstation, wow!! That's great news!! I'm really excited! XD

Oh,you're right - you're the first person to mention that! Early in game development medals were never more than 9 shapes, so that's a carry over from then. I'll try to get that sorted out :) Thanks for pointing it out!

Okay, I fired up my iphone to do this, haha! It's tricky, but there it is! I'm happy to eat my own dog-food! XD

Just to let you know, there's a free demo version of this forthcoming. Should be available at some point later today. :)

Just thought I'd let you know of a bug that I found after the update.

On level 22, which is the second level on medium difficulty, if you take away both balloons followed by the platform the star is sitting on and then retry the level goes crazy whenever you take away a piece.
I mean crazy as in it throws the star into the air and pieces rocket out.

Also I'd like to point out that your game is fantastic and just showing it to a couple of my friends was enough to make them get it. One of them think it might cause his demise during the coming exams. :lol

Haha, sorry about that, it drives me crazy XD

For the next update I've removed the balloons on level 22 completely. This it temporary until I can track down the balloon problems once and for all. Lots of the next level pack have balloons, so I need to make them behave themselves. :)

Thank-you very much! :D And I'm always happy to disrupt people's school work! XD

Shouldn't this be a win? I'm waiting for 5 minutes already. GODDAMMIT :lol
Ask yourself that question XD Would you be happy if I let you win like that?

Great game, I hope it sells well for you. Did you use Javascript in Unity to develop this?
Thanks Ksimm! Yes, I coded this using Javascript, or what Unity calls javascript at least.

I always thought those balloons must have been a pain in the ass to add! :lol

wmat, glad she's enjoying it! :) Please get her to tell her friends!

What does the 20/40 indicate below the easy/medium/hard buttons?
Ah.. that should indicate how many medals you have in each category. That information is a bit weird, to be honest.

Forgot to report back in. I beat all the levels :) This has become my staple quick game fix at work when im on my breaks. Quick play was truly a great idea and im getting a good bit of mileage out of it. My high score is 13 whats everyone else at?

My Tumbledrop Quick Play score is 21! :D
Somehow I thought I would be better at my own game. o_o

Glad to hear you completed it, I hope to make new levels available within a week or two.

Yeah, doesn't seem to be working on mine (updated version, on a 3gs)

I just lost my iPhone, which is a huge bummer, but I wanted to say, congrats and major props on your work. The game looks wonderful and I am very impressed. You are quite the talented individual!

Holy crap, Tumbledrop is a finalist at IGF Mobile! I guess I'm coming to IGF + GDC in March!

Congratulations and the best of luck to you. This is my go-to game for toilet-time entertainment :lol

That's a boxquote right there :D

Been playing it lately and I love it!

Very fun, eye-candy graphics with simple yet addictive gameplay, just like an iPhone/iPod game should be (in my opinion), everyone who tried it on my iPhone loved it too! :D
