Turkish Airways crashes 737 plane in Amsterdam

I hope I'll get over my fear of flying one day... I've been on really smooth flights but remained terrified, can't imagine having to deal with turbulence.. or actually going down. Jeez!

I hope the people in critical condition make it.
 
I just want to know what happened. People on the road say they saw the plane come over and heard no engines, seemed like it could be fuel starvation.... the one passenger that seemed to speak to the news said that it all happened so fast with no warning.

It wasn't THAT foggy so I don't think the pilots would have been using autoland and not seen that they were way off until it was too late.

strange accident.

They are incredibly lucky that they crashed into a recently plowed field though. Yay for tulips?!

Basically one of the 2 altimeters taht gives the auto pilot info was faulty. That resulted in a big loss of altitude which the pilots very quickly tried to correct upon realisation (I guess once they came through cloud)

Then, pull up, stall, smash.
