And yeah, Aja is VERY attractive.

It's not a bad film but it isn't strictly comedy. It's more of a family movie that tries to hit you in the feels. Don't get me wrong, it has some hilarious moments but Shadows had me laughing pretty much from start to finish.

But just so we're keeping score. Breaking Bad. The Wire. The Sopranos. Deadwood. The Shield. The West Wing. None of these shows have exceedingly good looking casts.

Funny how prestige drama doesn't fall into this kind of trap.

Eh I would say that's more because of the context of the show. There are prestige shows with good looking casts. Mad Men, Friday Night Lights, I'm sure a shit ton of others I just can't think of

I suspect this is why a lot of shows have villains with really good delivery when the heroes are often pretty flat! If you're ugly you'll always get to play the bad guy.

I always felt like the men in this show were comparatively way more attractive than the women. Most of the women were/are meh. My wife says it makes up for all the shows with average looking men and gorgeous women.

It's not truly Degrassi unless 80% of the cast looks like they were born three months premature.

I didn't watch Supernatural for so long because of this. didn't miss much.

Seasons 1 - 5 are fantastic... You missed quite a bit imo if you are a fan of the genre.

Lots of comedies have pretty average looking casts. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (on the CW, incidentally enough), Big Bang Theory, Black-ish, Fresh off the Boat.

I guess the idea that hot comedians are less funny persists on television.
