Was talking to a friend the other day and I realized I've dropped a few tv shows recently. Even though they're still on the air, I don't really care to catch their new episodes anymore.

dr who - watched the 2005 season, and the doctor was replaced by an actor I don't like. watched the 2006 season for his companion from the 2005 season's conclusion, and found that without the 1st doctor nor his companion, i really didn't give a rats ass what the new doctor and some new nobody got up-to, so I left it as a nice self-contained story arch.

the mentalist i left when red john's story arch was concluded. I already have a bad taste in my mouth over the red john revelation. plus I'm too afraid this show is going to get cancelled mid-storyarch or get even worse, and I will wind-up telling myself I should have stopped with red john. Similar to how I WISH I had stopped Dexter at Trinity.

grey's anatomy i just dropped in the middle of season 8. it just got to the point where there was always ''something'' happening to these people aside from the medical stuff. too drama-y and unbelievable. i mean if normal people got this many chances to screw-up they'd have been fired long ago. besides that, i feel like the non-medical storylines we're getting now don't even touch the earlier seasons.

Does this happen with you guys too?

Community.

Yeah, I said it.

(edit: It was very early in the series....like season 2 or 3. I can't remember exactly when)

Walking Dead. When it turned into a barnyard soap opera with zombies in Season 2, I tuned out. Came back for season 3 for some reason and enjoyed parts of it, and then stopped.

Edit: Forgot about Community, I dropped it after a few episodes into Season 4 I believe. Dan Harmon leaving really left it's mark, show didn't feel the same at all to me and I dropped it despite loving the hell out of the first 3 seasons. Haven't gone back to even though Harmon came back into the picture.

And I'm about one more Fitz and Olivia scene away from dropping

flat on its ass, too.

walking dead. i haven't watched mad men passed the 5th season i think so that too. i also stopped watching family guy when i realized what shit it was

Most recently S.H.I.E.L.D. None of the characters outside of Agent Coulson are interesting and none of the situations they're in are interesting either. Very dull show all around.

Sons of Anarchy. Watched seasons 1 & 2 and just sort of missed season 3 when it aired. I've heard very mixed things about it since so I haven't had much interest in picking it back up.

The Walking Dead is a good one.
I must admit I haven't really liked it since The Governor left Woodberry. Something just hasn't been clicking. Too many new characters perhaps, and too many of them being annoying or bland. Like those two kid sisters who named the zombies/fed them rats. Annoying. Or the army lesbian and her sister (whom I think are the family which The Govenor stayed with after Woodberry). Boring.

I gave up on the Mentalist long before the Red John arc concluded. Also gave up on Community after season 2, I just didn't like it anymore. I stopped caring about NCIS after around season 4. I watched the first few episodes of the Hawaii Five-o reboot before I gave up.

Law and Order: SVU

The fact that most of the old cast is now gone and I don't like the direction Benson's character has taken at all has been pushing me towards giving up on the show. If the next episode with
Rollins and her gambling problem
doesn't sway me I'm done.

All of you people saying "Walking Dead"...

Why do I feel like I'm going to see at least half of y'all in the Walking Dead thread live-blogging the show on Sunday?

Tryin to be cute...

I've dropped The Walking Dead (after season 2). Boring, same shit every episode, too many damn commercials, "second screen experience", The Talking Dead... the list of why the show fell from grace goes on for miles.... oh, can't forget fucking Carl.

Somone: "Carl, don't do -insert something-"
Carl: *immediately goes and does what he has been asked not to.

Just bad ones that I didn't even make it through one season of, Revolution for example.

If I like a show enough to finish the first few seasons I won't ever drop it.

It's cool to hate popular things.

I definitely agree with Community though, last season was terrible and the few episodes I caught from this season weren't much better. Revolution and the Following are some other recent examples.

Supernatural - It was time more me to move on.

Walking Dead - The acting is getting bad and it seems like it will be two more seasons before everyone re-unites

Every show but adventure time. My life just got way too busy and when I'm home I just end up vegging, writing/recording music, or playing video games. I spend way too much time NOT doing anything when I'm not at work unfortunately.

Dexter after Season 5. I've heard sooooo many terrible things going for it after that. Real shame too because that show was my guilty pleasure to watch.

Walking Dead - Stopped watching after the second episode of season 2. It's complete garbage.

Dexter - Tried a number of times to make it through the first scene of season 7. I just couldn't do it.

This season of Community is better than the last, sadly last season scorned a lot of people. And with one of the best characters on the show leaving this season the show might not be able to get the people they lost back.

I going to say Walking Dead too. I inadvertently dropped Archer. I used to watch it, but I missed the first few episodes of the new season, and haven't seen it since.

Dexter - after S4
Homeland - after S2
24 - don't remember when exactly
Fringe after like 9 episodes
Rescue Me before the last 1 or 2 seasons

Probably forgetting some

Walking Dead, halfway into Season 3. Never looked back.

I still read episode summaries and purposely spoil myself to laugh at it, though.

The Walking Dead. I watched season 1 about a year ago, because I played the videogame and thought it was interesting. But then I heard the TV series becomes terrible, so I stopped.

How I Met Your Mother. I think I made it to season 3, or 4? I can't even remember, it got so boring.

The Mentalist.

I think i left like 4 seasons ago because they drug out the Red John stuff way, way, way, way too long. I did stream the conclusion of that stuff from xfinity and that could of been done and wrapped in the 2nd or 3rd season. I really like the guy who plays him but the show just turned into shit for me.

True Blood
The show went to complete shit in season 3 yet i continued to watch up until like 2 episodes of last season. I have no interest in re watching that last season and watching the upcoming final season. I should of stopped at the end of season 2.

Heroes
I stopped like midway through season 2 and never looked back. I don't know if it was the writers strike that completely hosed the show but it had so much promise.

How i Met Your Mother
Bailed out 3-4 seasons ago. I understand syndication, ratings and wanting a show to keep going on but like a goddamn decade to get to how ted met his wife? And now i hear they are doing a how i met your father spin-off which blows my fucking mind.

Agents of Shield -- gave up after 10 episodes
It's Always Sunny -- quit several years ago, maybe season 5? just trying too hard. the first few seasons were hilarious though.
Community (for a year) -- dropped it for S4, didn't watch a single minute of it, took it back up for S5
The Walking Dead -- only watched the first season and it was dumb. I also don't give a shit about zombie stuff.

Once Upon a Time - Went from bad but interesting in season 1, to really bad in season 2, to eventually giving up on it at the cliff hanger.

Beauty and the Beast - Wife and I watched if for 12 episodes, it kept repeating the same stupid thing over and over again plot wise, called it quits after a good laugh.

Grimm - Felt this season has been just stupid, gave it up for awhile, but came back to it after we ran out of episodes of everything else on Hulu.

Mindy Project - Just feels like its going no where.

New Girl - haven't given it up yet, but god has it sucked this season

South Park - Stopped watching it religiously after it felt like it went from being usually intelligent to being all about craziness. Catch random episodes now.

Naruto - Watched 200 strait episodes and ran out of dubbed one, was sad but I can't keep to a "check every week for new episode" schedule. Will go back to it one day.
