Twilight Princess HD officially announced.

Lol, they sure didn't give the graphics the WW treatment. I hope they have at the very least added new content and re-optimized some things, but I don't think this will be worth buying for those who've already played the original.

Yeah I'm not paying £30 or whatever for this.

Just watching the direct:

"But it's more than just a prettier version of the same game. To make this game even more enjoyable -"

oh great they improved the gameplay

"we decided to create a new amiibo figure"

oh for fucks sake nintendo

Tried to play TP on the Wii U recently and it had aged well graphically. This looks much better. Playable.

I rarely care about old graphics, but TP on a HD screen looked gank.

I encourage anyone to but the Wii version on the Wii U and have a look.

I was waiting for the transition in to upgraded visuals...
Same here. I'm not even gonna lie, my interest in this was tied to whatever graphical overhauls they made. I have a copy less than 10 feet away from me right now so its hard to get excited about it, especially since I don't care about amiibo.

Goddamnit. It literally is Zelda HD. As in, just an up-res and nothing else. :/

Yeah. I guess I was spoiled with Wind Waker . Especially since it seems to be a third party doing the work. Hopefully this is the case of that EARLY Hyrule Warriors trailer where it looked pretty basic.

At first I thought they were showing the GameCube version and then would show the Wii U version after to compare how much of an upgrade there had been...

It looks pretty ugly, but as long as it costs $30 or less, I'll be there day one (I've already wasted enough cash buying the game on the Gamecube and the Wii). But I have the sneaking suspicion that they bundled it with the Wolf Link Amiibo so they could sell it for $60.

Wait, what the fuck?

There seems to be no upgrades other than higher res textures and maybe some gameplay changes. Like playing the game through Dolphin.

Geometry, lighting, animations, etc seem literally the same as the original game.

Come on. You really think the announcement was a comprehensive detailing of everything about the game? They made some tweaks to WW; I'm sure they'll do something similar with TP.

I hope I can choose between right-handed and left-handed Link.

It's more than just which hand Link uses; the entire map flips horizontally. Apparently that was the only way they could make Link right-handed in the Wii version.

Its Tantalus, their strengths are in gamepad stuff and added some new content, I dont know about graphical overhauls

Gamepad stuff is what I wanted most

Legit question: Why would Nintendo pour any real effort into this?

Wii U is dead and the people that this is aimed at are

- Zelda die hards who will buy it probably regardless
- Casuals who don't know about Dolphin nor care and just want a fairly decent game to play on their game starved machine.

They gain nothing by pouring resources into this other than being able to say 'LOOK! A GAME IN 2016 FOR WII U! WE TOTALLY GIVE A SHIT ABOUT WII U!'
