It feels like they don't even start taking advantage of some of the good sentai stuff until Time Force (where that series just embraces it full sale and is much stronger for it).



It's been awhile since I've watched that segment, but if I recall correctly, King Mondo legit dies here. The Machine Queen doesn't quite take it all that well and is overcome with grief. The villain that Rita and Zedd are about to launch in this episode was actually a machine dude who forcibly took over, forced Prince Sprocket into a very unfair 1v1 and merc'd his ass. He ended up ejecting the prince and queen out into fucking space.

King Mondo barely survived, is nothing but a fucking head now, and manages to transfer all of his power to the prince. The prince gets an upgrade (you'll see it as a completely different character in a few episodes) and kills the bomb dude, and retakes the machine empire (where it's probably even more ruthless than before). I believe there was a time skip in Ohranger at this point (I think it was a 2 year skip)

Yeah they definitely toned it down for PR lol. This sounds a lot more interesting.
