All games will also be available for download individually on the Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation(R) 3 computer entertainment system.

Hasbro Game Channel is the destination for family game entertainment on consoles with new ways to play your favorite classics such as Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Risk and more.

"We have worked closely with Ubisoft on the development of the Hasbro Game Channel, which will bring family and friends together for a fun and social gaming experience with their favorite brands," said Mark Blecher, senior vice president of digital gaming and corporate development for Hasbro. "The new console games will allow players to connect and play with others, not just in their living rooms, but around the world."

"We're bringing Hasbro's classic games to the digital age, capturing all the excitement and fun of these timeless games and building new ways to play them with the Hasbro Game Channel," said Chris Early, vice president of digital publishing, Ubisoft. "The new console experiences will offer a brand new channel with both familiar and new gameplay modes, various missions, achievements and rewards for endless fun with friends and family."

The first three brands available on the Hasbro Game Channel will be MONOPOLY, RISK and TRIVIAL PURSUIT, and will offer players a brand-new way to experience these classic brands.

MONOPOLY Plus -- MONOPOLY Plus brings the world's favorite family gaming brand to a new level with the original 2D MONOPOLY board as well as a colorful and lively animated 3D version that evolves as you progress in the game. MONOPOLY Plus lets players choose their favorite 'House Rules' to customize gameplay. Up to six players will be able to enjoy MONOPOLY Plus online or offline.

RISK -- Strategy fans will venture into stimulating modern warfare combat with RISK. Keeping the authenticity of the 2010 rules as the standard, RISK offers a new strategic experience with a familiar map layout optimized with modern armies, 3D tactical battlefields, configurable win conditions and rule variants. Online league play will allow players to compete with people from around the world.

TRIVIAL PURSUIT Live! -- Trivia fans can test their wits in this new take on the world's most well-known trivia game. TRIVIAL PURSUIT Live! transforms the classic experience into a TV-show setting with reinvented question formats, customizable game lengths and a variety of game rounds and rules to keep players guessing.

Ok, this really seems strange not to have on Nintendo consoles. Like really, really strange. This is not AC or Far Cry.

Is it wrong that I'm actually excited for this? Great three games to start with too.

The download angle definitely appeals to me more than those £40 boxed releases.

Here is the box art.... oh wait, sorry...

Another instance of Ubisoft deciding to ignore the Wii U.

And this time it's with a casual game that you would think would be perfect for Wii U's family-oriented demographics.

I wonder if the Wii U exclusion is less because Ubisoft doesn't want to support the console...and more because Nintendo is unwilling to work with that kind of publisher-exclusive infrastructure?

Also, this is a download-centric thing - no Wii U at this point would seem to make sense. Maybe they're waiting to do a disk release when they have all the games in there?

Wasn't Wii Sports Club completely download only with Nintendo releasing individual sports and offering a 24 hour trial period before you buy as well with online?

Yep.

Nintendo has the infrastructure to support it if they wanted.

I'm thinking this is more of a case that Nintendo doesn't want to support an App that connects to a publisher network...similar to how Nintendo refused to support Origin leading to a Nintendo + EA rift.

Nintendo would want all the games directly downloadable on the eShop.

Wonder on the price. I'm gonna guess at $15 each. Monopoly looks cool.

I just hope there's offline play with AI so I don't have to rely on other people.

On last gen they are individual games anyhow, so what's the point of that. There is on the front page a thread about a indie's great sales (also) on Wii U. That's a download only, you know?

Nintendo would want all the games directly downloadable on the eShop.

They are directly downloadable on PS360 as far as I understand.

Didn't 360 already have this years ago?

Yeah there was a family game night hub where you could launch the games if you had bought them digitally. You could buy them through the hub too.
Maybe this will be more fleshed out or something.
