Ubisoft 'confident' that The Crew won't repeat Unity's mistakes

I am somebody who has been repeatedly burned by Ubisoft and their franchises for YEARS, and have officially given them up. Don't believe this shit, unless you like being burned, too.
 
I don't know why companies still make games like the Crew. Not saying The Crew doesn't bring anything new to the table because i'm pretty sure the game's focus is online and race clubs which seems to be the craze this gen. It's just not fun to play and it doesn't look nice either. Open world racers with a b-tier story have been done before.

I'm not sure the game will have a sequel as it'll probably be a bomba...

Sadly the open betaand demo or whatevs didnt impress me after locking up my ps4 twice. No thanks.

Add in all the in game purchases fuck that.

No Ubisoft games for awhile

On a side note, considering how mediocre the impressions for this game have been, I think it's hilarious that they keep releasing betas. Who cares about review embargoes when everyone has had a chance to play the game already?

They are being confusingly picky about what areas they choose to project confidence in this game.

Exactly.

The driving is dreadful.

Cool concept for a racing game, just executed poorly.

Also, the story line is lolworthy. it's so bad.

of course, I LOVED the cutscenes in NFS Most Wanted 2006. But, that's because they were intended to be that cheesy.
 
Any publisher should only be allowed to use the 'this time it'll be different' excuse once, and I'm pretty sure ubisoft themselves have lost count of how many times they've said this by now...

Anyone who still preorders (puts their trust blindly into ubisoft) their shit is a fool

Was thinking the exact same thing, first they reassure us that there wont be any problem then there are and next they apologize and we start the cycle again, im pointing out at many companies like EA with battlefield.

They really do. With all the negative news they have swirling around them in the last 5 or so years... If people really wish to be burned by Ubi, even knowing this, well, that's on them.
 
Lol. 1 month inbetween releases, and we are supposed to trust that they've somehow learned from Unity's mistakes?

In their defense, each of the betas I have played (two of them, one on PC and one on PS4) actually have run well. The game isn't great, but it ran well. So assuming servers can take the load (and I don't think they'll have a problem), it should be fine.
 
I really hate Ubisoft open world games, they don't know how to make a compelling and fun world. They should go back to making linear games like PoP and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. That's the Ubi I liked.
 
I'll be amazed if this game isn't boned at launch. I'm about as likely to buy a game from Ubisoft (or EA) at $60 as I am to buy a $10 burger from McDonalds.

it's being made by some of devs behind Test Drive Unlimited. They were doing this stuff in 2006 and sold me on online gaming more than anything else on the 360 at the time. I wished for years that they get a chance with a bigger budget and better publisher than Atari. Then Forza Horizon came along.


I don't really need another open world racer but may check it at some point out anyways.
 
You know things are bad when your PR for your game is "we promise it won't suck as bad as our other stuff".

Sorry, Ubi. I'm never buying a game day one from you ever again.
 
Can the gaming world just have a year long embargo of Ubisoft already...

Getting a little sick of hearing about their dumb **** every day I surf the web.

-> Random user X proceeds to buy the next asscreed anyway.

Before I get flak, I haven't bought or played an Ubi title in well over two years....actually probably significantly more than that.
