Ubisoft Weekend Sale on Steam

Weird, I almost bought M&MX yesterday at GMG at 20% off. Decided to hold off for some reason.

Is the DLC worth playing or should I just get the base game?

This is what I'm wondering, too. Dunno if I should go for the 'Legacy Digital Deluxe' edition or not. Other than that I'm ready to take the dive.

I was thinking of grabbing Rocksmith. I have the cable thanks to a Best Buy deal a few weeks ago.

Is the original on sale as well, and is there any lag like the PS4 version?

Honestly guys it aint worth it missing out on some good games just because of uPlay. Games still launch faster than they would have if you had to go pick up your disc, put it in your DVD drive, wait for it to load and then press play on the splash screen.

Child of Light is a good game, don't drop it because of uPlay :(

I really got to get around to finishing it tough.

I dont even have Uplay installed anymore. No reason to. That service is as likely to be around 10 years from now as GFWL. There's just no point in buying a game that uses it.

Picked up the Trials Fusion season pass. Glad it came up in the sale.

Nothing else interests me, although Watch_Dogs for $16 isn't bad, it's just my backlog has just burst through the doors.

Put together a list of all the DRM formats the games on sale use. Note that this is all according to the Enhanced Steam plugin:

uPlay:
AC Unity
AC Black Flag
AC Freedom Cry
AC Liberation HD
AC III
AC Revelations
Child of Light
Far Cry 3
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon
Far Cry 4
Might and Magic Heroes VI
Might & Magic X - Legacy
Rayman Legends
Rocksmith 2014
Splinter Cell Blacklist
The Crew
The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot and DLC Packs
The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom: Deluxe Gold Edition
Trials Fusion
Valiant Hearts: The Great War
Watch Dogs

uPlay and Tages DRM:
Anno 2070

No uPlay:
Call of Juarez® Gunslinger
South Park The Stick of Truth

Excluded from Family Sharing, no Uplay:
Might & Magic: Heroes VI - Shades of Darkness
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

I wonder why Rayman Origins is never getting any reductions in these sales. Even in Ubi's own UPlay sales, Origins gets left out. What harm is there in reducing it even if they don't give a shit about it? Puzzling.

it doesnt mention Uplay or any 3rd party launcher on the Steam page. It just mentions a 3rd party EULA. Is Ubi being so scummy as to hide that games use Uplay now?

Iono. I've personally never found store pages very reliable or consistent. Best place to check is gaf or maybe PC gaming wiki, etc.

"Additional:Peripherals Supported: Windows-compatible keyboard, mouse, headset, optional controller (Xbox 360 Controller for Windows recommended). Requires UPLAY account."

Ready to be sold on Gunslinger and/or Rayman. what say you?

Gunslinger is pure arcade fun with a neat take on single player narrative. It has fantastic gunplay with both a controller and keyboard/mouse. It also has some arcade stuff to play with once you beat the main campaign.

The Blood Dragon/Gunslinger pack is worth considering if you don't own those two. Both were huge surprises that year.

See? This kind of shit is why you shouldnt do business with Ubi.

Does anyone else here see the notification that the game uses Uplay?

No you cant see it? Well if you look closely, then click on the "Read More" button for system requirements, then look closely again ...

Ah of course! There it is. how could I miss it? After all it's in plain sight with the system requirements and hidden behind a toggled drop down box.

Gunslinger was damn fun. A little short, but felt lengthy enough to not be bothered by it. About 10 hours. best gunplay of 2013! pretty fun game with really satisfying shooting.

ty, buying although i won't get to play it for 2 weeks D:

Valiant Hearts is mine now.

On Uplay, the funny thing about it is I find it actually works better when crossed with Steam then standalone. Having to use it without Steam to redeem an AC4 code was a nightmare. The download kept dropping for some reason so the install took forever. Meanwhile I got Blood Dragon on Steam and its a much nicer experience as steam handled the worst parts like downloading.

i paid $50
real good stealth game. Worth missing 3 cups of coffee or whatever.

Yea I've heard it's good but the last SC game I played was trash and I just lost my job about a week ago so I'm on that $5 or less Steam sale swag

plus Type-0 is about to come out then Bloodborne so I could use all the money I can get :P

So fucking shady.

Just can't support uPlay titles, and I own the ones that aren't already. I made an exception for Rayman a while back and while worth it I still feel dirty.
