UC4: I'm getting a little verklempt

Just wrapped up UC4 and I can't believe it. I had the whole family watching.

Nathan, Elena, Sam, Sully: it's like butta.

What a way to end the series. I am getting a little verklempt.

I'll give you a topic;

Nathan's return to find his brother although necessary and imperative to both the brother relationship and the inner and outer 'family' of characters as a whole was neither anti-climactic or climactic. Discuss.

I just thought it was mildly annoying.
I was still pretty pissed at Sam from the whole revelation of him lying his arse off and now I was forced to play as Nate being a stupid idiot and almost getting himself killed trying to save that twat.

The real big brother is sully. they can't be Friends at all, they should hate each other for... seeing the other ss a replscement or some...

On a serious side I loved the ending of all characters.

The relationship between Nathan and his brother felt real and soulful.

Some of the body movements were insanely real, like when Sam would pucker up for a drag, or look away from a bright light. This was seriously amazing and I am so glad I did not spoil a bit of it.

The prison warden was so believable. I really haven't seen motion captured like this before.

Nate was a consistent character the entire time.

It reminded me of Blade Runner, "I was quit when I came in here, I am twice as quit now."

The conclusion to this story may have eclipsed the beautiful tragedy of TLOU.

ND you did it again.

Amazing game. GOTY. Only The Last Guardian can top it for me.

Rafe was especially fantastic. Every scene with him is great. Also, the chemistry between Emily Rose and Nolan North is unbelivable. Drake and Elena is the GOAT videogame couple.

Fuck Sam.

Sorry, still pissed about his useless and unnecessary inclusion. Ruined the entire story for me.

WHAAAT? Sam is the story. This story is about Nathan reclaiming his family that was left in shambles by his father and mother. Sam is a true hero, and he lied to Nathan for the same reason that Nathan lied to Elena.

Its poetic

aka: family is the greatest treasure

Loved pretty much everything about UC4. One thing that threw me off a little though was the character of Nadine. I...don't really understand the purpose she played in the story at all. I feel like she was just there to be the "balance" and rational one between Nathan and Adler.

I loved the game and the series, but the boss fight was so freaking awful. It's honestly the worst boss fight I can think of off the top of my head. Aside from the fact that it was horrible to play, it was a total departure from the rest of the gameplay.

Wtf were they thinking.

Rage was amazing!! Best bad guy in the series. Lazaravic was way too unrealistic, some guy just going through countries ravaging them? Hahaha not in real life. Marlow was more believable though but Rafe was just a greedy treasure hunter. He was legit.

His addition to the story was pointless, instead of giving us Sully, Elena, and Cutter. They give us Sam, a character so dry and boring compared to the other three. He just wasn't needed, he added nothing except retcon a bunch of stuff, including Nate's motivation in the previous three games.

Francis Drake wasn't really Nate's obsession? He was just something his brother attached to him to escape the cops? Who came up with that terrible retcon?

I don't know if Druckmann is in way over his head here or what, The Last of Us could be a fluke, but the writing in UC4 was one of the worst in terms of writer-transition in popular media. It felt like fanfiction, and that's always a no-no when you transition a different writer into a franchise.

Maybe he's better at writing an original story, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt this one time and assume that he's not good at writing action comedies, but he's good at other genres. I'll judge him as a writer after his next game.

Love how they handled Nat and Elena's relationship, they could have so easily fucked that up. The ending choked me up a little as well.

Apparently they had to cut out a sword fighting mini game between young Nate and Sam when they were exploring the old Lady's House. That probably could have acted as a tutorial for the final fight, shame it got cut.

Can't disagree with that, despite my misgivings with UC4, Rafe was definitely the best villain in the series,.

I'm replaying this and rise of tomb raider and UC4 is head and shoulders the much better game. I'm half way through my crushing play through. Having a blast with the game again.

The game was over by the time. Sam, Nathan, Sully and Elena had already been united and were leaving the island.

It was the narrative before the epilogue.

Kind of like the ending to the LOTR (the books) when the war is over and its still 150 pages left of them going home and things happen, etc.

That was the discussion piece I prompted above. I am not sure what this is called.

This game completely blew me out of the water. Sorry Dark Souls 3, but there is a new sheriff in town this year. Or gen.
They took this light-hearted (kind of anyways) Indiana Jones-esque series and churned out a sequel with one of the best directing and character interactions I've ever seen. Because that is apparantly what Naughty Dog do these days since TLoU, to blow my fucking mind. This is like watching a good movie and playing an awesome game at the same time.

And I don't care about any retcons or anything. There is Uncharted 1-3 and there is 4 and 4 is bloody awesome and 1-3 seem more like distant memory now.

That would be dope. I'm excited for the DLC.

Also the co-op update!

Someone else who knows Nadine is the TRUE waifu...

Sam was a scumbag
lied to his brother about being alive for so many years after Rafe springed him from prison, pushed his brothers marriage to the brink.

Yes, have to agree with this, and while I enjoyed UC1-3, UC4 was an extension of the pinnacle of TLOU.

I'm a Drake freak and playing Uncharted 4 is why we do what we do, is to have the chance to play games like this and enjoy them and no one enjoys Uncharted more than I do. I mean anytime you have a chance to play an Uncharted game, you've gotta do it. They're all great games and there has not been an Uncharted game that's not a 10 out of 10. This one is no exception, I really loved it, I really loved it and it's right up there with the best of the best.

I give it 5 bags of Doritos, but I'm going to pack em tight with as much chips as I can get in there and an extra spoonful of Mountain Dew because I loved this game and it's right up there with the best of Uncharted!

You're out of your mind, it was the best final boss fight in the whole series.

I was enjoying the ending well enough, but man, once that epilogue kicked in...

There are a number of directions the series could go in once another dev inevitably picks it up but none would get me nearly as excited as
DAUGHTER OF UNCHARTED
.

We will need to agree to disagree on this one.

Sam's role was to save his brother Nathan.

Which he did on several levels.

I loved this game. I find the best parts of the game are the character interactions....especially how Nate and Elena mend their marriage during the course of the game.

Of course, I was pleasantly surprised by
Cassie
.

It's more like... Sam symbolized that Nate shouldn't be of that life anymore.

You have the right mindset, and you surely have noticed the numerous Jesus on the cross references with the penitent/impenitent thief, not-so-subtle references to Nathan's career choices and the choices of his brother.

They did quiet up with this symbolism near the end of the game, but the point had been made.

That clearly had nothing to do with Henry Avery.

I hear you, Nadine was kick-ass and I really enjoyed the feigned-one-way sexual banter.

I was pleasantly surprised there was no 'cat-fight' between Elena and Nadine. I think a lesser story may have sunk to that.

ND provided an intelligent and cohesive conclusion.

Sam held the entire story together and this was the best story in the series. I can't even imagine the game without him.

Thats because there is no game without Sam.

The first playthrough was great and the story, interactions and graphics were extremely appreciable. The only thing though is that after trying to play it again, the story and interactions seemed to fall flat for me. But yes that first time was awesome. I wasn't verklempt though.
