UFC website hacked due to SOPA support

I only have one Dethrone shirt. Have yet to see a Tapout or Affliction shirt that I would wear, but I don't look down on people who do.

Where exactly does Dana White get off calling people fat? Dude looks bloated every time he's on camera.

Also, wtf at the response to the CC comment. What a dirtbag.

Am I wrong for thinking that basically all UFC fans are douchebags? I see a guy wearing a Tapout shirt and I instantly dislike him.

I think the biggest problem that separates the douchebag MMA fans from douchebag NFL/NBA/MLB fans is that for the longest time the UFC seemed to cater to those douchebag fans with the shitty 'nu-metal' intro music and constant Tapout/Affliction promotion. Hopefully with the Fox deal that might change, but that kind of shit is off putting to regular sports fans.

keep supporting this dude, guys.

wish i could point to a better alternative (strikeforce & some others put on good fights) but my poor boxing is in no shape to say shit here.

Multiple experiences where they've tried to roll in and take something from me (a girl, a place in line, whatever), and threatened me with that "I'm training for the UFC, so don't fuck with me" shit.
Well, that does perfectly describe every single one of us MMA fans, so go ahead and keep your line of thinking.
We all train UFC and we will jack yo shit.

You mean the same Strikeforce that was bought by the UFC last year? For high-level MMA there's zero competition to the UFC.

And as far as Dana goes, the more mainstream the UFC becomes the more pressure will be on him to stand aside or to self-censor some of the crazier shit he says. But you've got to be an asshole when you're a fighting/boxing/pro-wrestling promoter. It's part of the job description.

cool

love my douchebag shirt

I'm not saying your shirt is a bad thing.

I am, however, saying that turning your nose to a menswear thread is ignorant. At some point in your life you'll want to step up your style. And although some people recommend/post/discuss really bizarre looks in that thread, we'd be happy to make recommendations (not to mention save you some money) on some looks if you just asked for specifics in line with your personality.

LMAO @ the tweet calling for his resignation. Do they realize that the UFC is basically the WWF? I mean, this is the same company that inducted Couture into the Hall of Fame and then had him fight again.

honestly didn't know that happened; good friend of mine is a prominent fighter with them too. huh.

no doubt this is true, but i've read stuff (this thread in particular) that sounds way more meatheaded than a lot've interviews with actual fighters. assholery i can take/expect, some stuff is straight dumb though, you know?

*edit: those you taking the "lol not a sport" bait: this is a lingering, vastly minority opinion compared to say the early 2000's. you're not gonna move some people, and it feels even dumber than the "can games be art" debate. it's your time, though.

how the hell is it not a sport?

I always had this theory that some matches were fixed like boxing, just a theory though.

I'm not saying your shirt is a bad thing.

Yes my shirt is a bad thing I like that stupid bad crappy thing I bought for 10 dollars at a wal-mart, that thing. the UFC fans I know in real life don't wear those shirts but I sure as hell don't like them, not saying they're all as bad as the ones i know either.

Sorry I called out your thread amigo No I don't care about making myself look better, but thanks for asking. Again sorry for mentioning your thread in a bad way.

Dana has a plus minus system with me. He's either a hilarious troll, or a drunk dumbass.

+ Fedor trolling
+ Hates Bob Arum
+ Does at least give a fuck about trying to get good fighters and make fights

- Twitter wars
- Throws a tantrum anytime someone criticizes anything he does
- Got rid of Brittney once
haha this. I have a love/hate thing with that guy. The twitter wars count as 3 negatives, though, IMO.

and hey some tapout shirts are classy peeps:

This thread sounds incredibly pretentious. Five minutes of reading it and it's even worse.

Dana just has no filter and I doubt he has any knowledge (or drive to receive that knowledge) in public speaking and tact. This is actually a behaviour I like about him, because if he thinks you're an asshole he'll call you an asshole and not try to be buddy-buddy or diplomatic about it.

It's going to seem pretentious when we're discussing looks that you're not into. But ask us for recommendations and you might find something you like. I can't speak for everyone since we have a few people in that thread who're not very welcoming, but we try our best to tailor (puns!) recommendations to your needs.

But if you want to simply idle in the thread and pass judgement as a lurker, I won't stop you.

I'm done with this derail. Have the last word if you must.

I'm a Dana Fucking White, apologist. I don't like the way he's handling this whole hacking incident and SOPA in general, but at least he's honest (even in ignorance). I know whatever he's saying is not something he's being told to say or something he doesn't actually believe.

Like UFC. Like Joe Rogan. Not liking Dana White.

To be honest, Joe Rogan's got more to lose than Dana White as the UFC becomes more mainstream. I don't think Middle America will appreciate Rogan's pastimes as much as they will the easily "Gordon Ramsay-able" Dana White persona.

Where do you live that this happens and how old are you?

I own a Carlson Gracie shirt. I dunno how douchey it is though. I don't really wear it.

I've seen people wearing MMA shorts out in public, and honestly, that makes me cringe.

People come to our gym in Affliction/Tapout shirts after UFC's, but none of them have ever lasted more than 2 or 3 classes.

Good to know Dana's got the back of his PPV buyers when it comes to security. ;)

Edit: Annnnnnd beaten. Guess I know where I'm not using MY credit card!

Is this guy retarded?

Either that or he wants the typical UFC/wrestling/boxing fan to be able to identify with him...
