MrSardonic
The nerdiest nerd of all the nerds in nerdland
My internet connection had been down since Monday because of the snow. I really enjoyed the couple of days off work and the general relaxing. Amazed at all the moaning from people on TV and the stupid fucks who spent 2-3 hours trying to get in to work. All the complaining about lost productivity and how a few days of no work are a disaster - laughable. It was a great time for families to enjoy time together and little children to have their first experience of heavier snow.
Hope it happens again next week.
To be fair that is because they have allowed the trees to grow so that they over-hang the tracks. That was never the case in the past. And when leaves are compressed onto the lines they end up massively reducing the friction between the wheels and the track, something akin to teflon, and the trains have difficultly pulling away from stations or slowing down. They've actually been cutting back the trees across the network so that this problem is reduced.

DemonNite said:for those who dont understand the impact this has on london transport... they close the trains sometimes if there are too many LEAVES on the track :lol
