:lol I've only just realised how wierd that sentence sounds.

I wasn't paying attention; what did he say?

What dakster said. He just couldn't help making a snarky quip.

4.55am: ICM has produced an estimate for the final share of the vote, based on the figures already in.

Conservatives: 37.7%
Labour: 28.2%
Lib Dems: 23.1%
Others: 11.1%

These figures may change when the final results come in, but probably not by much. They suggest that Labour is going to do even worse than in 1983, when Michael Foot achieved 28.3%.

Im just stunned at how poorly the Lib Dems have done.. im glad they don't stand a serious threat as they are basically the Labour party with a few insane policies, but I would have loved to see the Torys take a two way beating.

Two seats left to be called in Scotland. I have a feeling they'll be the last. Islands n' shit. Unless something unexpected happens, they're two easy seats for the Liberal Democrats.

Feeling pretty tired now but the more results we get the more I want to know what's going to happen. One of Cameron or Brown will surely have to make a speech before the breakfast news bulletins.

Time to put the kettle on and settle in for an all nighter.

Oh and Balls is a smug bastard.

Hard to describe, especially because so many people vote for parties based on tradition, not policy.

As things are now, Labour have no excuses under which they have the right to form a government.

I expect bitter tears tomorrow.

Labour - Centrist.
LD - Centre-left.

But Labour is still seen as the Socialist party because of their working class roots that Blair jettisoned in the 90s.

Gordon Brown is head of the Labour party and as such is current Prime Minister of the UK.

As much as it pains me to say it, the Tories will end up with the most seats and the greatest share of the popular vote and they should be able to form a government automatically because of that.

Wolverhampton SW Tory :/ Thought that might happen. At least Bolton is all red!

i find it funny that south west is a tory gain
but my cousin in south east still has a big majority, 6500

only superficially - to the extent that labour claim they are the same and libdems claim they are different.

Both have noticeable right/left wings and there is considerable overlap in the middle

Guess he was safe after all, 6500 difference is pretty decent considering the proximity.
