It might not be the way it works, but if the tories are only about a couple of seats short of a majority, i don't think the public would accept the labour party forming a coalition with the Lib - Dems and staying in number ten.

lol, he is actually from your neck of the woods. Was rumoured to be in talks a few years back to be chief executive of celtic

John Reid - the former defence minister - got the job IIRC.

I found a burger king voucher online so i might have a kip in a bit and get up later and hit up BK for a buy one get one free angry whopper and watch the fallout..

Either it's the camera playing tricks, or Dimbleby looks like he's gonna pass out.

Go go Hammersmith.

Two clear options now for me:

- Conservatives rule in a minority.
- Conservatives approach the Lib Dems for a majority coalition.

Either way I think there'll be another election in October/November with one of the millibands leading the Labour party.

"Liberal Democrat Lord McNally tells BBC Radio 4 "the electorate have left the Lib Dems standing at the altar". He goes on to say: "A lot was promised and it's very difficult to say this wasn't a very bad night for us.""

I think the Conservatives will get 12 months, Lib Dems cant afford another election before then.

Don't push it painey, you've already made me hate you for passing down a chippie. Munch the fuck out of that BK burger, or I'll write a reminder in my diary to slap you once I return to the UK. :|

tories token black gimmick candidate loses in hammersmith. (i grew up nexdoor to this constituency) this makes me very happy.

didn't you hear? my mother went out to vote and brought in fish and chips from the very chippy i bailed on, i even ended up with a roll too :D

Lib-lab have closed the gap in declared seats to about 10 from the conservatives. Looks like Tories & lib-lab may well end up with the same number of seats

Tim Montgomerie, editor of the ConservativeHome blog, says he "no longer believes a Tory majority is possible".

Email me a sausage roll from Greggs and we're cool.

"On current figures on seats declared so far, some two million more people have voted for the Conservatives than have voted for Labour."

grey haired bloke on BBC gets it, 37% of the vote does not a moral authority get. Higher Moral Authority than Labour, but not enough to control what goes on in the commons.
