UK Software Charts

* The Top 40 Entertainment Software Chart sees EA's PC 'The Sims 2' taking a second successive week at No1. Lucasarts narrowly miss out on the No1 spot, debuting at No2 with the well-timed release of 'Star Wars: Battlefront' on PS2, Xbox and PC (the Star Wars Trilogy Episodes 4/5/6 DVD is also currently flying off the shelves). EA's 'Burnout 3' (PS2/XB) drops one place to No3 and the second highest new entry is EA's 'Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005' (PS2/XB/PC/GC) - it debuts at No4, which is actually one place behind the 'Tiger 2004' debut. However, sales are almost double that achieved by the previous version's week 1 performance exactly one year ago. The third big new entry of the week debuts at No5 - THQ's PC 'Warhammer 40,000: Dawn Of War', whilst Capcom drop two places to No6 with PS2 'Resident Evil: Outbreak'. SCI's 'Conflict: Vietnam' (PS2/XB/PC) drops 4 places to No7 and Vivendi's 'The Simpsons: Hit & Run' (PS2/XB/GC/PC) is the only product more than 4 weeks old in the Top 10 thanks to re-release during September at budget price points. Activision take the fourth of the five new entries in the Top 10 thanks to 'Call Of Duty: United Offensive' at No9. The fifth new entry is Codemasters' 'Colin McRae Rally 2005', in at No10 on PS2, Xbox and PC. Also worthy of note this week is Nintendo's Gamecube 'Animal Crossing' (debuting at No19) and Atari's nice-price 'Terminator 3: The Redemption', debuting at No24 on PS2, Xbox and Gamecube at £19.99.

wow great news for dawn of war, this must have been a pretty big week for the UK charts with Sims and Battlefront (loads of hype from the DVD releases). More bling for bish!
