Sasuke / Ninja Warrior was awesome because it was filled with people with heart. Doing it to prove something to themselves and not cash prizes.
Every day folk.

Not gym rats.

No Mr. Octopus, no sale.

Watched the first episode. It was just ok. I don't think the course is as demanding as a lot of the Ninja Warrior obstacles. I like the gimmick of risking the points thrusters though.

Just watched ep 2, the Korean and Brazilian hosts are awesome.

Episode 2 has a Japanese comedian wearing a samurai wig.

The first episode is fun, but it has such artificial feel, probably jsut being on demand and not week to week like ANW, that I almost expect the latter half of the season to be like Sex House

E: anyone know if the other announcers get the focus instead of Terry in their country?

The real stars of the show are the South Korean announce team. I absolutely ADORE them. They're so energetic and enthusiastic. I wish I could watch the whole show with just them announcing.

I think the Japanese announce team are the weakest of all the countries. The guy isn't too bad, but the woman mostly just has a shocked look on her face for everything... But, then again, I'm only basing this off the clips they show.

The Brazilians are by far the weirdest. You can tell they kinda don't give a fuck, and for that reason, they're really entertaining.

I didn't really love it after the first episode, but it's been growing on me, and now I really enjoy it. I think keep giving it a try.

Ultimate Beastmaster Mexico is on US Netflix. I only watched a little, but it looks like the primary focus was on the Mexican announcers.

Yeah the production values were pretty good on the first episode.

The editing and stuff was well done to keep the pace going.

Some of the fails are pretty good.

Episode 4 is amazing tons of laughs there and the competition is fierce

Rafinha and Anderson Silva you got to love their attitude, all is mockable

Nice change of pace from ninja warriror. I especially like the international feel of it thanks to all the announcers interacting. Announcers were pretty entertaining and I liked the dance the Korean announcers did. The course is still too climbing dominant and these shows need more variety like the energy coils which require leaps.

OK I liked it.

I guess the current editing helps keep the pacing of the show going. But I would've actually liked a choice to just have an option to watch every contestant run through the course start to finish without editing parts out or skipping contestants.

I used to watch the Sasuke / Ninja Warrior marathons on cable for hours in the background. So I wouldn't have minded how long it would've been like that.

Wipeout with ungoofy people, I liked the first episode

edit: curious enough as portuguese I can choose either the brazilian episodes or the american episodes on my netflix, Terry Crews vs Anderson Silva and Rafinha Bastos it's hard to choose
Someone now if you can change to the different country hosts , like if I am USA can I see the Mexico focused version?

Yeah. I noticed 2 versions of the show on US Netflix, you can watch either the version hosted by the American hosts, or the version hosted by the Mexican hosts.

I wonder why all versions of the show aren't available on every Netflix region.

My wife found this today and we watched a couple of episodes and it's quite fun. The course is pretty impressive and I love the theme.

Also Lol at all the people who jump too late on the escalator.
lol, is there a gif of that last guy who jumped too late in the first episode?

Literally me when playing platforming video games.

Just finished the season... Really fun show! It did start to feel a little repetitive towards the end, but I kept watching to see which countries would make it to the finals.

Few spoilers...
• Poor Japan! Sucks to be the only country without a finalist.
• Really bummed the Ice Climber lost... Nothing against Felipe (that dude was an incredible athlete), but I really dug the Ice Climber's humble heart.
• Kinda weird they made round 2 randomly harder for some episodes... Sucks for those peeps!

Why change the course in the middle of the season for some competitors but not for all the others? Then why change it back in the final run?

For me the final episode fell flat, I expected a whole new final track with new and more difficult stages but instead we get the samething but the rope is gone back to the chain.
The show was entertaining but felt repetitive toward the end.

Just watched the first episode, I love shit like this. I've done my share of obstacle course races, enough to really feel how brutal some of those obstacles were.

Can't wait to watch more tomorrow night!

Funny how when I saw the first episode where Felipe was, I thought to myself this is the dude that will take the prize, for how easy he made the track look

Yeah, he was absurdly dominating. The last ep was actually closer than I though.

My wife was telling me about this show last night. She didn't know what it was and thought it was a horror show. She kept waiting for zombies or something to show up. She said it's awful. lol

Is your wife fluent in any of the languages of the hosts? It's pretty clear it's an obstacle course... why would she expect zombies?

Watched it all a few days ago, and thought it was pretty decent.

I would've like to see more variety in the challenges, and I think the course design is really slanted to favor rock climbers to an unfair degree.

If they revamp the course and address some of those issues, I'd definitely be interested in another season.

They should have had a 2nd chance ep for the people that got second, for example, the young German guy that got 2nd in the first ep probably was the 3rd best competitor on all the eps.

It is kind of unfair to see someone like that get to the final part of the last stage and not make the finals but in weaker finals some people don't even make it past the 2nd part of the last stage.

Been watching about 6 six episodes of this. As always with shows like this it rarely seems to be about strength gained at a gym. The best of athletes fail in the first obstacles not because they weren't good enough athletes but because they miscalculated the jump on the treadmill start. You don't even need to be an athlete to get into those ropes, you just need to time that first jump right. Of course a fat fuck like me wouldn't be able to hold on to those ropes long enoug without falling off in the middle of the lift to the next obstacle, but it always disheartened me to watch my favourites be really good and agile athletes in the previous stage, only to fail completely because they mistimed the first jump in a course.

Also, is it just me or does the lighter guys with not a lot of muscle mass fare better than the big bodybuilder guys?

Watching the finals now and even here they do that thing where they fast forward a contestants performance and talk about in past tense, spoiling to me that the contestant in question didn't really excel at anything etc. This is the one thing I don't like about this program. I hate it when I want to see a performance with all the normal suspension that goes with it and they just ruin it. Have less contestants in your game if you don't have enough time to show them all properly. I mean it's the finals even.

A lot of the obstacles just seem to depend if your tall or not. I know there's one spot where they adjust the height of the platforms.. but most of the time your not gonna get anywhere if your short.

Yeah it's definitely not always about your skill or strength per se. Also it's definitely the climbers who have the overall advantage here. The more strength you have in your grip and fingers the better your chances seem to be as opposed to having big biceps etc.

Watched through the second episode so far. It is good, but I hate the "USA USA USA" chants that the american judges do. It just seems to happen every 5 minutes and it really breaks up the pacing of the show for me.

you can see if you have available other presenters

The editing in this show is so fucking hard to follow. Also Korean announcers are just head and above everyone else.

What i loved about Ninja Warrior was always the impression that it wasn't contestants against each other it was everyone against the course. Beast Master manages to play up the worst parts of Ninja Warrior (announcers, annoying backstories, over the top editing) and get rid of what . is enjoyable.
