"He tried to be cooler than cool, now he's nothing".Out of all the Arnie one liners despite this one being funny, me and my friends still don't get it.
Oh, you wanted Arnold doing some Shakespeare? Well today is your lucky day!
Yes, and it does not hold up.
You may be correct. Here's the list of the most popular TV shows of the 2015-2016 season: http://www.indiewire.com/2016/05/mo...thrones-the-walking-dead-football-1201682396/ If that is the most nuanced and complex that popular media has ever been, it is truly terrifying.Except this is absolutely untrue, objectively speaking. Popular culture is on average more complex and nuanced than it has ever been. Especially TV. Have you ever honestly gone back and watched some of the absolute garbage that was on TV back in the 70s?
Idiocracy is not a thing, as much as I like Mike Judge and think basically everything he does is funny. People are smarter now than they've ever been, and the pop culture is more complex than it has ever been.
There was a really interesting book about this phenomenon a few years back called Everything Bad is Good for You.
I think it makes a lot of interesting predictions, actually. Not so much about Donald Trump but about the emergence of reality TV and the use of dumbed down popular media to pacify a population.
Later, she cheated on College exams. Then she had sexual relations with three, sometimes even four men within a single year. Then came Mad Dog Ben Richards, her *Confederate*, her LOVER!
It legitimately predicts face mapping of one person onto a 3D model of another person, to make someone look like it's doing something he's not. Back then I thought this would not be doable within my lifetime. Now it's the kind of thing used liberally in holywood - still not in realtime like they did in Running Man, but close enough. It also predicts using special effects to fake things ;D
Yes, and it does not hold up.
I thought Richard Dawson was some rando TV host and not running the country
"I'll be back."
"Only in the re-runs."
Fucking love this film.
Anyone saying the movie doesnt hold up is wrong.
Hard to believe this film came out the same year as Predator, which while equally entertaining
ehhhhhh
I miss Richard Dawson
But the book was INSANE.
Completely different story though.
The Running Man could travel anywhere in The States, but had drop a video recording in a mailbox every 6 or 12 hours. He had to rely on the trust of the people as there was a bounty on his head that anyone (public) could collect on.
Amazong SK short story. One of his best.
Maria Conchita Alonso is so terrible in this movie.
This, I like what I like. As long ad I enjoy it, it's fine. The movie doesn't hold up, but I don't give a single fuck. It's fun.

Lol fuck that yes it doesYes, and it does not hold up.
That movie has a great ending and amazing (kickass 80s rock) credits theme. Arguably one of Arnold's best flicks.
The Running Man - Ending Credits
"I'll be back."
"Only in the re-runs."
Fucking love this film.
It does have some of the best Arnold lines though.
Yes, and it does not hold up.
