But the book was INSANE.

Completely different story though.

The Running Man could travel anywhere in The States, but had drop a video recording in a mailbox every 6 or 12 hours. He had to rely on the trust of the people as there was a bounty on his head that anyone (public) could collect on.

Amazong SK short story. One of his best.

I need to pick up the book. That sounds awesome.

Another fun fact about this film is it's directed by Paul Michael Glaser, who played Starsky on Starsky and Hutch (the TV show).

That movie was awesome. It was Schwarzenegger being his most Schwarzeneggerness ever! I had a VHS tape recording from HBO that I managed to wear out. It had Mick Fleetwood from Fleetwood Mac as a revolutionary bomb defuser.

and Jesse Ventura!

Which leads me to something I could never figure out. Towards the end, the network does a fake fight between Captain Freedom (Ventura) vs. Ben Richards because Ventura quits and refuses to fight Richards in a silly costume. He is then fired and escorted out by security. Then they map faces and have a fake fight. Here is the scene:

Who are these people? Ben is a stunt double. Who is Captain Freedom? Another stunt double? For some reason when I first watched it, I though Captain Freedom was the Guard with a digital mask and Jesse was Captain freedom with a digital ben mask.

I haven't seen it in a decade. I don't know if I want to watch it ever again, either.

I read the book because its premise sounded interesting, and loved it. So I wanted to see the movie.

What kind of bastardization is that!?
