Unannounced Games Collectively Assumed Real

We see this a lot as enthusiasts. Taking leaps of logic that transcend actual leaks into just "obvious" games that we are confident exist in the pipeline. Last of Us II was such a game, spoken of as if a total certainty despite utter silence, years before VA credits and Sony's eventual announcement.

Which games are you confident exist despite no evidence to support your belief?

Which games do you assume real because of an intense desire for that sequel or concept to see release?

Which games that others assume real do you think have no chance in hell to see the light of day?

For me, Ori II, Bloodborne II, and Smash Bros 4 Switch seem such inevitabilities that I discuss them as if unveiled.

Pokémon Stars (Will get announced within a month if it launches this year.)

Smash Bros. for Switch (A port of Smash 4 3DS/WiiU. Will get announced at E3. I'm only 99% sure about this though.)

Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle (Will get announced at E3.)

The announcement dates are my predictions.

The last one I had like this is already out and has been for a while. Fallout 4. I was absolutely convinced it was coming out to the point I bought a PS4 launch day cause I "knew" it would be on next generation and not on my ps3 (and reasoned since PS4 was more like a PC this time it wouldn't be so drastically different to play on it. And then Sony went and was not very supportive of mods so once again PS4 is remarkably worse to play Fallout on). Yes, I know, should get a PC to play Bethesda games but I didn't want a PC, wanted some of the PS games, liked playstation in general, and figured it wouldn't be a big compromise. But yeah, that was how confident I was that they'd be making another.

As for now?

HRm... I'm going to say Horizon Zero Dawn 2. Because they already said they want to make it a series if it is popular and I'm guessing it was way more than successful enough to make another.

Persona 6
Nioh 2

Do think they'll have to change that subtitle.
Horizon 2: New Dawn

I'd say Dragon Age 4, but there's at least one post from a journo and multiple tweets that hint at its existence, so I do have some (possible) proof.

This is you with known sources?

I haven't believed that HL3 will come out in years. That is until I got a vive and played Valve's The Lab and now think that HL3 could be a VR game in the works that may or may not get released. It also could just be a new portal game. Who knows.

I find it hard to believe that they got such great voice actors and writers for core calibration for just that one bit.

Metroid Prime 4
Maybe I don't get the thread but no one thinks these are happening :P

At least for the Prime part, there was a (fake) rumor of Retro working on something related to "prime". The source? A rare employee tweeting his barbecue meal, which was (wrongly) interpreted by some as a "prime steak" or "prime rib".

I don't think people actually believed it, but you know about second hand wishful rumors, it might just have revived the hopes of a Prime sequel.

I'll go with Savage Starlight. Of course I'd love to see a sci-fi Naughty Dog title happen, but there's no indication that it actually is happening. Still, somehow many seem to think the teases amount to evidence that it's a lock.

HRm... I'm going to say Horizon Zero Dawn 2.

I think that's a very safe bet. The more peculiar collective consensus is that there's big Horizon Zero Dawn DLC on the way when there's zero evidence and potentially contradictory statements on record.

I wouldn't count on Bloodborne 2 honestly. Sony would want one, but I think From Soft wants to treat that as a one-off. Besides, Sony would be happy with another ARPG exclusive from From Soft, so even if it's a new setting with some different mechanics it would still fulfill the same role.

Sega is totally going to see the recent JRPG success and make a new single player Phantasy Star or Skies of Arcadia.

Honestly, I'm going to be very upset if there's not DLC on the way. I've finished the game completely (I've never purposely hundred percented a game before honestly) and all that is left are the training missions. I want to play more but I have to have some sort of goal to play a game or it just feels empty even if the gameplay is fun. And I really don't want to wait until a 2nd game. I've been very impatiently waiting for them to announce something (come on, GG, more money! It's an instant buy from me if you make DLC).

I love Naughty Dog. Think about their subtle environmental cues as you traverse paths in Uncharted 3 and 4; contextual touching and manipulations of things just in the course of walking by them.

With a sci-fi title, Space Drake could walk down a spacecraft's hull and just casually interact with a plumbus.

Demon's Souls remaster.

I thought that a few years ago. Especially when the From booth workers at TGS were all wearing demon's souls shirts a couple of years ago but I'm having my doubts. I'd fucking play the hell out of it if it ever does I still play it on PS3 every year.
