Uncharted 2 multiplayer screens (and trailer!)

A little OT I know, but I know what you mean. I prefer playing HGH in Killzone 2 just because Radec's voice is so awesome.

And to be fair, ND's been in full production for U2 for almost 2 years now, haven't they? Granted I assume Insomniac sets their own pace, but R2 only had one year of full production.
 
Like instead of killing spree announcement you would hear the voice of the character you're playing saying something about the accomplishment?

That would be very Nathan Drake like. I like the idea.

I checked the english VA out of curiosity a couple of days ago (picked french on my main account) and, well, IMO Radec's voice sounds awful. :lol
 
Totally agree. Especially for head shots, and it should be just like the original "thats gonna hurt in the morning" or "Ouch" there are few things better than a head shot, and that would make it even more gratifying. Also, the sound effect when the guy gets thrown off the roof is awesome!

Just watched the trailer on PSN. I was going to say that this might be the best summer of gaming in recent memory, then I remembered MGS4 was just last summer! Having Infamous and this beta, along with Fat Princess and Trine is just unbelievable. For me it shits all over this past Holiday/Fall season.

I liked it because it reminded me of the Generals from Star Wars. I love a good evil British accent.
 
Now ND, stop releasing media for this game. Don't do a Killzone and saturate the market with media before release.

Take a leaf out of R*s book and just release teases til launch. We all know what to expect and any extras, bonuses will surprise us come launch.

I hardly think we've even come close to "saturating the market with media" we have 1 cutscene trailer and 1 gameplay trailer. And probably about two dozen screenshots, of what's probably a pretty tiny slice of the game so far. There's still plenty left!
 
Yes, I agree Dizzan. But only because I don't have the will power to not watch every piece of footage available. I saw too much of the first Uncharted as well as Killzone for the same reason.

I'm not saying you have!! Just offering my opinion.

I'm sure you've only shown the tip of the iceberg so far and it looks great.
 
The only thing I'm worried about now with the MP is that people can take to much damage before they die. Please ND don't turn this into MGO, it should only take a few bullets like in CoD4. That way people will use cover because they actually have to.

I agree. They could also make a "hardcore mode" where you can only take 3-4 shots before you go down.

But I'd rather have them focus on just one HP system. So yeah, I hope the characters take less damage then what I see in these videos.

That article just says that you don't get entry into the beta with an infamous pre-order. Note that the same is true of the USA. Having said that, Aussies will probably get entry into the beta in the same way as Europe, whatever that ends up being.
 
Yeah, that is one thing that bothers me with Killzone 2 sometimes unlike COD4. You shouldn't have to empty an entire round into someone to kill them, or at least incapacitate them.

Radec's, behind Visari's, is the best voice in the game. Two excellent actors.

Too quick in COD4.
 
Uncharted 2 should stick to 3-5 shot and have a Crushing mode for online that will implement Crushing damages.

Uncharted should be like Uncharted not COD.

For a twitchy first person shooter, yes. But it is very fast and high-skilled. I don't think they are the same type of game, nor are they targeting the exact same audience. Yeah, tweak it a bit, but not to the level of COD4.

Eh, forget all of these freakin 2-3 shot kill requests.

Im tired of dying so fast in online games now. Dont have us be bullet sponges but give us a fighting chance to survive at least. Everybody wants the same thing in every multiplayer game now. The same mechanics and the same rules & limitations.

How am I suppose to climb around and swing from lamp post to lamp post when it just takes 2-3 shots to kill me? That would be no fun at all.

That'll be way too easy. In Uncharted I just do rapid 4 shots to down an enemy with the 2nd 9mm Pistol and it was quick. If that damage is implemented it'll be way to Unbalanced.

I'll go for 1 headshot, 4 chest shot, 4-5 for everywhere else.

The only reason it looks like it took some time to take down is because Assault Rifles in Uncharted is weaker then Pistols. 6-8 shots for AK to kill. They could probably tweak the Assault Rifle damages to kill in 5-6 hits or something maybe even 4-5.

Edit: ND knows how to set the damages, it was good in Uncharted except for the Rifles might need to make it kill in 4-6 shots because Rifles took more. Pistol damages were perfect.

I don't want online to turn to a effortless slaughter, like somebody said how the hell is he suppose to traverse when he'll die in less then 4 shots.

but I also think this is a good point. Sometimes in Killzone I'll unload on someone, and they don't die. It's probably lag sometimes, and other times that I can't control the game well when in close with an enemy. Or they are just bullet sponges other than in the head, not sure what it is.

There's also a perks system ala R2 and Call of Duty 4. While playing around in the game lobby I accidentally hit a button and discovered abilities such as "see through walls," "extra damage," and "improved shooting." It certainly explained how I mowed through my opponents in the previous round: They probably didn't have perks activated.

We already said all our movesets and animations are the same. It's in there, just because you didn't see it in the trailer doesn't mean that we covered everything there was to see. There's plenty in the hands-on which wasn't in the trailer, and of course there's plenty that hasn't been seen yet.

Some of the guys at my local Gamestop actually wear Xbox 360 shirts at work. :lol They also tried to convince me that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue was "really just a demo that wasn't worth it." Great salesmanship! They never know anything about PS3 games. I hope they aren't such tools elsewhere.

Yeah the ones where I go are pretty much the same. Any time I reserve a ps3 exclusive, they always ask me which system I want it for as if they've never heard of it. They did it with MGS4 and Killzone 2. I hate those places, but I have no other way to guaranteed way get games like those the day they come out or at midnight launches.
 
I wish the announcement hadn't been spoiled early. Was pretty damn cool how they started the trailer with Drake alone and then all of a sudden, other players appeared in the background.

Yer that would have been cool. It was obviously very well thought out (the trailer, not the marketing posters spoiling the reveal)

I just don't get this talk about turnaround and Sony have come good talk all of a sudden. Why are people surprised? Most reasonable people knew that a lot of good games were in the pipeline for it. It really was a given from day one, i.e. most of the big Playstation franchises would get another incarnation on the PS3 etc. and new exclusives from Sony first party as well - so where is the surprise here?

The same thing happened with with PS2 really. It took a while for it to get into its stride also (maybe not quite as much but still). So I've never understood the hate and stupid shit being said about the PS3 up until pretty recently.

Anyway, Uncharted MP actually looks quite fun but I'm not a big fan of MP and especially not 3rd person MP. I'll definitely give it a try though. The SP already has me down on day 1 anyway. :)
 
The damage system for Uncharted was awesome, IMO. Having the pistols as main weapons (because of power and accuracy) and the rifles just as back-up made it more movie-like for me. Guys like Bond and Indy don´t run around mowing people down with machine guns, that´s Arnies job. ANd it´s always the good guy with a pistol that wins the fire fights with heavily armed goons :lol

The rapid flurry of shots in the chest/head area approach made the game so awesome to play.

I actually worried a bit after the single player trailer, the bad guy seems to go down after one or two bullets. But that´s hopefully only for cinematic reasons, I refuse to doubt Naughty Gods any more :lol
