Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Gameplay (E3 2015)

"Not open world but wide-linear"

Fucking love it.

God damn just saw the extended demo... Unbelievable.

Me too! It was fucking amazing.

I've never seen anything like that in all my 36 years of gaming.

Naughty Dog is just unstoppable when it comes to crafting cinematic playable gameplay. I had no idea it was a live demonstration until the dev at the end introduced the guy that was playing through the demo.

It's a shame Sony didn't give us that ful demonstration at the press conference, but I understand why they didn't. Absolutely phenomenal.

Where is extended demo >_>

Only way to right now is on the show floor. I'm sure they'll release it soon, it's to good not to.

Nah they won't release it. There was an interview with Druck/Straley where Straley started talking about the extended demo and Druckmann stopped him because they didn't want to spoil it. If thats anything to go by they probably aren't releasing it.

Can someone gif this? >.>

I am sorry. I dont know how to make gifs.

Another incredible detail.

Notice how Drake puts the AK inside the jeep when he first enters it.
He is carrying the AK on his back, and the he removes it, holds it with one arm
and finally sticks in between his seat, and the middle of the car.

This is crazy to me because if the player had decided not to pick up the AK,
the animation would not trigger. Also it looks like the AK still has physics in the car, but I could be wrong though as it is very hard to spot accurately.

Actually kind of happy about that. If it's from the part of the E3 trailer where Drake is being dragged through the mud and the motorbike skids under and obstacle, I will GLADLY wait until 2016 to experience that firsthand.

Oh its on the show floor >_>

Well this deserves a repost. <_<

2016 for games is going to be ridiculous.

Okay. I just spotted a new detail during the gameplay demonstration.

A detail that absolutely floored me.

At around 1:27 when the soldiers begin to open fire on Drake and Sully,
their bullets hit a table with a big white bag on it (saying Van Castro on it).
When the bag falls of the table, it displays some kind of "soft" physics,
which is extremely impressive in itself.

But what happens next is unprecedented in non-scripted gaming.

The bag lands on Drakes lower leg. Drake instinctively kicks the bag away from his leg,
causing the bag to lean up against the table leg for a second,
before finally changing back to its normal flat state when it hits the ground.

This small sequence of events last less than 5 seconds.

But the smile on my face has lasted all the time while writing this.

Thank you Naughty Gods

Just noticed that one of the cars has a Madagascan flag on the rear plate. (far right)

I could well be wrong but the E3 gameplay video certainly had the look of the place.

It would be really really really absolute shame if they don't show the full gameplay, or at least someone leak it, since the rest of the gameplay is said to betetr more breathtaking than what we saw. If anyone can play it there, why not show it?

Thanks. Definitely not Drake intentionally kicking the bag away but its good to see objects don't just ignore the player character.

It looks like a quirk of the animation system. Not necessarily a kick but if something lands on Drake he adjusts slightly. Would have to see a second example to know for certain

Watching the Gamespot interview, Naughty Dog confirmed verbatim that "all the little roads you see, all the paths you can choose to go in, are all viable options". Make of that what you will regarding the wide-linear/open word distinction.

Its funny how people bashed/seemed worried back when it was showed at the playstation experience event.

Well, some things never change i guess :D

Where can I see the extended demo?

The extended demo is behind closed doors on the show floor. It was a triple showing, featuring Horizon, The Last Guardian, and Uncharted 4. TLG had a slightly extended demo, Horizon was the same as the Press conference, and Uncharted had a whole extra 6 or so minutes past where the demo ended at the presser.

Yeah, I could remember them stating that particular scene was scripted, but other scenarios would allow players to enter/exit the jeep and explore... They also mentioned you can drive anywhere as long as there is not a guard rail or building blocking a path...

I really hope they don't release the extended demo. That was enough to sell me on the game and I know I will want to see this extra bit for myself so I don't want any of it spoiled, they should just be showing the multiplayer now.
