thanks. going by this graph, the Q2s aren't at the top of the spikes, but they're not at the very bottom either. that's Q1 if I glanced at that correctly
Lmao o god. All it needs now is shu
Lpl I hate you chobelI wonder if the game is actually profitable, I mean it probally cost 200+ million and assuming they get half the MSRP it is only 81 million so far.
That's not how things work bruh.any month that's got a big release ain't a slow month in my book

$200 million for a game?I wonder if the game is actually profitable, I mean it probally cost 200+ million and assuming they get half the MSRP it is only 81 million so far.
not where i'm from. it's late spring. No it's not. May is considered a summer month and this time of year is notorious for slow sales since more people are inclined to go outside and enjoy the weather instead of staying indoors gaming. Selling this much in what is normally a slow month is huge.
things change, man. That's not how things work bruh.

Yep.Are you making fun of another person who said the same thing a while back? I hope so...
$200 million for a game?

Uncharted 1/2/3 budgets were around $20 mil. Why do you think that ballooned to $200 million? o_o
I understood that reference.I wonder if the game is actually profitable, I mean it probally cost 200+ million and assuming they get half the MSRP it is only 81 million so far.
I never said May was the slowest month. I said it was a slow month.
And historically, it is.
EAs Q1 covers April, May and June - like a lot of companiesthanks. going by this graph, the Q2s aren't at the top of the spikes, but they're not at the very bottom either. that's Q1 if I glanced at that correctly

Everybody falling for the chobel bait...
Well played
Guys is a joke.
? if it is in between the fastest and slowest months then why is it irrational to just consider it typical instead of slow?
Lol had to save as many people as I could before they made a fool of themselves thinking he was seriousnooooo
that must be what the "fiscal" year means I guess. coz i would say that's Q2 to the public.EAs Q1 covers April, May and June - like a lot of companies

I'm talking about in business scheduling including retail for gaming. May is considered a summer month because a large number of schools and colleges are getting out for summer break. Due to that, people are not actually buying more games during this period and that puts pressure on retailers to get sales up to negate this. E3 usually provides a small bump, but it's slow sales all the way until September.
based on the data i was shown, it's slow, but not nearly as slow as other months.I mean, you can consider it whatever you want. The data shows otherwise though. It's historically been a slow month for games at retail.

Wasn't there some guy on GAF that used to do this all the time and got banned because of it? Gotta be careful with the bait.
Shouldn't be baited anyways. Just say that someone else said it.Everybody falling for the chobel bait...

Lmao so true. His bait is the ultimate lure.No Y2kev is a moderator now.

I guess I'm not sure what you're arguing, you don't think releasing in proven slow months have any impact compared to the usual holiday months?that must be what the "fiscal" year means I guess. coz i would say that's Q2 to the public.
I see. Well, in the case of a game like uncharted 4, which i heard also had the "biggest playstation marketing" or whatever, i'm not sure if it mattered that much that it released at a period that is considered slow by the producers.based on the data i was shown, it's slow, but not nearly as slow as other months.
Great job PS4 owners! Now imagine what TLoU 2 will do.
No not him. I can't remember his name but he had a title about a sandwich or something like that. I apologize for going off topic.
actually yeah, if Q1 on that graph is supposed to mean actual Q2, then you're right.Based on that graph, which is measuring fiscal quarters...that's not really accurate.
eh, not necessarily, if the IP is huge (which uncharted is). it should sell huge regardless. maybe it would've sold even greater in Q4 but there would likely have been much more competition too.I guess I'm not sure what you're arguing, you don't think releasing in proven slow months have any impact compared to the usual holiday months?
