After Uncharted 4, I don't understand why people want more of the same exact thing they've had for 5 games.
It's fun. And they've been spread out well. It's not like some annual series.

Yep.Here's an idea: how about you just let the story be fuckin' over
So what like how the Sands of Time trilogy came full circle? ND is good but they aren't that good. I honestly don't think they thought about that. Using his life as a backdrop for bedtime stories for Cassie would've been really cool.

Whether it has a fail state or there is a purpose is insignificant, is it quality gameplay is the question. The platforming in this game is there just to be busy work. There maybe two times where they actually chain jumps to the point where I would actually call it as a section where timing and direction is actually needed, good platforming.
As for the exploration, if the treasures were well hidden, like behind optional puzzles like the TR games do it then yeah it's fine. But they are still just random shit hiding in a corner with no thought put into them and no real gameplay motivation outside run around every inch of the level. Make gathering them interesting that should be the goal.
The best part of these games are by a mile the combat. It's exceptional. Everything else is average at best. U2 is a masterpiece because the balance is heavily in favor of the action, the best parts. Mess with that balance and you get a game with lots of boring sections.
A big problem with the Uncharted platforming is that they don't want people to fail, and as a result it ends up feeling too automated and inconsequential.Fair points there, I agree that as far as platforming goes its "busy work" although I think given the type of platforming it would be very hard to make it skill reliant, I mean you're hanging & jumping from or to irregular objects - unlike classic 3D platformers, where you are jumping from "step" to "step"..... to use an example, the platforming in Mario 64, banjoo kazooie etc. are on a different scale compared to the type of platforming the uncharted uses.... one would say its to the detriment of UC but I think its an unavoidable flaw that ND has to deal with, the type of "platforming" UC uses can find parallels with Assassins creed.
Sure there will be.There will not be an Uncharted 5. That ending was perfect. At least we are getting single player dlcexplaining Nadine possibly or maybe going off Cassie. No idea, just speculation
That sounds...extremely generic and boring.
How many time would it be "one last time". This would add litteraly nothing to the overall story.
There's no sense of trying to continue this franchise apart from pure cash grab as the story would go nowhere. This constant sequelitis from fans is getting annoying as it's more about quantity than quality
I'd rather have ND bloom into something new. I think they've proven themselves enough that they don't need to continue uncharted infinitely for people to follow them

They could have easily created scenarios that require decent timing or actually using
momentum with the rope or while sliding but they just never did. The pick also had huge
potential but it was introduced too late and didn't get utilized properly.
*snip*.
A series starring a young Sully would be fantastic. He has some great sounding stories from his past that would be fun to see. He's even mentioned how he's met a young and ambitious Alcazar.I would let the franchise rest for a few years and maybe bring out something in the same universe but not a direct sequel for the PS5 release.
I still have hope for a game following Sully's exploits in the swinging 60's and fighting dirty commies.
Until then put that awesome engine to work with some new fun IP's.
I sincerely hope that Uncharted 4 is the last one - ever.
It ended perfectly and left no loose ends. It was a fitting, beautiful send-off for the series. Anything made after this game, be it a sequel, side-story or otherwise, would just be milking the franchise and Naughty Dog is far too good for that.
i feel like that's what they did. it's subtle but it's there. obviously not bedtime stories but definitely stories. Drake and Elena had kept that stuff secret from cassie for several years, the next step in that story is for Drake to tell her all about his adventures.
The DLC will kick-off right when the credits roll in the main game and will be a fishing game.
Don't read any further if you haven't completed Uncharted 4.
With the success of Uncharted 4 and the way they ended the series. I feel like there is no way Sony doesn't make U5. Its inevitable.
Their daughter goes out for an adventure of her own, or tags along with Sam for some small project. Next thing you know, they in a big trouble, and Drake and Elena have no choice but to go and help her out. More like "One last time". Sam, Sully are all onboard.
What do you guys think?
Here's an idea: how about you just let the story be fuckin' over
I didn't play UC4(and i don't plan to) so i don't have a clear vision of the situation but doesn't that clearly imply that the daughter is going to be the new main character? I read somewhere that UC4 is the last one with Nathan so it would make sense.
He was speculating, that doesn't actually happen.
I know you don't really care but I'll spoiler tag what actually happens just in caseShe finds a bunch of stuff that Nate and Elena have collected over the years and expresses a clear interest in it.
The next Uncharted 5 should be Last of Us 2.
