Abel Ferrera - King of New York, Bad Lieutenant, The Addiction...he's like a mix of Scorsese and Jarmusch.

Majid Majidi - one of the best Iranian directors, touching films with strong connections to nature.

Carl Theodor Dreyer - he was pretty much the Danish Bergman. Strong, passionate filmmaking about life and death.
