what are some underrated PS1 games

do not really hear too much about this game online, but i thought it was fun *BS Space boss aside*

apprently it has a GBA port. Not sure if that one is any good. *I doubt it though*

I think i am kind of familar with it. I think it was based off some Looney Tune Shorts. *not sure which ones though. I think they were some of the more obscure ones*

You know, i really would want to play Tomba 2. Unfortunately, the one sold on PSN was the Japanese verison.

I am not sure if they since have added the english verison or not.

Tiny Toon Adventures: Toonenstein is a pretty great adventure style game. Reminds me of Microsoft's Haunted House. Funny script as well.

Pac Man World is great! Tight controls and fun level design. My only misgiving is I dont like how the collectibles were handled (they tended to be "activate something... now backtrack over here!" which ruined the pacing of the stages) but luckily those can be mostly ignored.

I remember Renting this game when I was younger. It was fun. There were some decent Licensed games on PS1 This game and Toy Story 2 & Tarzan were some of them.

I'd also put Disney's Hercules in the list of good licensed games.

No console has more hidden gems than the PS1. The market exploded and devs / publishers were coming out of nowhere to join the 3D revolution, and the PS1 was always the default destination.

Anyway, here are some random picks which I don't see mentioned enough on Gaf:

Rapid Reload/Gunners Heaven

Excellent 2D shooter. Vibrant, addictive and fun.

Vandal Hearts

Early isometric SRPG. Must play for fans of the genre.


Bish Bashi Special

Will not post screenshots cause they cannot do this game justice. One of the best, funniest party games ever made. Kind of like Warioware on steroids, before Warioware was a thing.

Edit: Kudos to Aswell. We are friends now.

Better than Pokemon. There, I said it. Being able to pull your own monsters from CDs, merge them to make new ones, raise and care for them, battle them, go on expeditions etc. - the game had SO MUCH that you could do.

Something about this game was just so charming, it was short and in some ways played like a minigame collection but damn if I didn't enjoy every moment.

Yes, absolutely. I loved Speed Freaks (PAL name) as a kid - it was ridiculously short and obviously beaten by CTR but still a solid kart racer in it's own right.

Cool Boarders 3 was Awesome! I liked it better than SSX.

I got a few Others.

This game was fun. The controls were kinda weird. But Fun.

It reminded me of Legend Of Zelda. I remember the Combat being super fun.Too bad the Sequel is a mess and no one should ever talk about it.
