My favorite thing is the old cop cares they sell at auction. They usually have the extra light or whatever about the drivers sidemirror. So you know it looks just like a cop car without the stickers but it'll just be some dude driving around
Awesome episode of The League based on the character buying a Crown Vic and everyone everywhere assuming he's an undercover cop. Here in NJ, at least from what I've seen, all unmarked cars are Crown Vics. My rule is to just not drive like an ass near a Crown Vic.
Just watch out for Crown Victorias. They are always undercover cops.

If I see an unmarked Crown Vic, I just assume it's a cop car.
My parents owned a white Crown Vic for years. White... of all colours.
It was such a pain in the ass to drive it because everyone on the road automatically assumes that you are a Ghost cop. When you pull up behind someone they slow down to a fucking crawl. They had that car for 6 years, just got rid of it last year... I don't know how they were able to stand it that long. I never drove it because of that, always used my sister's car.

Cops are so easy to identify because they all drive the same Crown Vics/Chargers/Impalas, whether they are undercover or not. They need to mix it up a little bit; I don't think anyone would suspect an undercover cop if one was driving a Camry or something.
These cars are really annoying and cheap. I know what he's talking about when they "bait".
One night when I was the DD, I was driving my friends to McDonalds at like 2am. I had an unmarked car behind me. I was driving 35 in a 35. The cop speeds by me and talks on his megaphone "drive slow and get home safe". I guess he wanted to see if I was a drunk driver.
Might be riding his bumper trying to get him to speed up over the limit.

easiest way to avoid them is to just not drive like an asshole, something most people seem incapable of.
he was in front of me pretty much the whole time
he kept randomly slowing down and speeding up, (i think) trying to get me to pass him, even though we were pretty much the only 2 cars out there for a good 10 mins. that's how he got he car in front of me once he got bored with me.
An off-duty cop once told me that they were trained to do this. It works with both marked and unmarked cop cars. They deliberately drive really slow and annoying just to see if you have the balls to pass them. If you pass them in a casual, cautious way, they leave you alone. If you rage and pass hard, they nail you. If you're too scared to pass, they keep watching and waiting because they know you'll probably screw something up sooner or later.
I'm in South NJ and I've been seeing quite a few unmarked Ford Edge's lately. Here in NJ, at least from what I've seen, all unmarked cars are Crown Vics. My rule is to just not drive like an ass near a Crown Vic.
Was this like for highway patrol? I didn't think they could be unmarked. I often see highway patrol without the lights on the roof of the car but never without the body paint.

Where I grew up, unmarked cars were actually not allowed to pull you over solo (because people like faking cop cars or something).
Yep, here they like to tailgate you and see if you speed up and tag you. I think most of us can identify a Crown-Vic by its headlights at night by now.
It's not hard to spot an unmarked car. They're almost invariably American-made cars, the license plates are often funky, the strip of lights is visible in the window, and you can typically see the laptop in the passenger seat. Plus, the person driving it feels he never needs to signal.
