Unsuspecting uTorrent users are cryptocurrency miners.

Well looks like I was infected with this crap.

My PC late at night after 11pm was rev'ing up and down constantly which would continue when I was going to bed.

Un-Installed Utorrent, deleted the Appdata directory, cleared all the registry entries with CC Cleaner.

Installed QBittorent. Everythings running smooth, no rev'ing up late at night. Must of been mining even though there was no indication of Epic Scale.

Bye bye Utorrent. Scum.

I just downloaded Deluge and really like the look of it. Nice and simple.

One thing though - Is there a way to get a pop up notification telling me when a download has finished like uTorrent does?

I'm curious about this too. I liked that feature since sometimes I forget about what I have downloading.

Check under Preferences/Plugins and you should see a notification plugin just for this. Well it's there under the Linux version anyway.

Switched to Deluge after I heard about this, haven't tried it yet. Total bullshit. If I'm going to mine for Bitcoins, it'll be for ME, not for some other random jackhole.

This same shit kills of so many programs, it's ridiculous. They have a great product that people love, and they "improve" it so much that they lose all of their customers. Talk about sheer stupidity.

Well, I have an old version of utorrent and my computer was acting slow, so I ran the kernel virus scan on avast and found epic scale all up in the place. Im just gonna go ahead and format tomorrow. Just a heads up, it installed with no knowledge of me accepting it and no one uses this but me sooo idk

Just to say I tried Deluge and was extremely disappointed, it downloaded at less than half my usual rate.

I'm using Qbittorrent now and I'm back to max speed on top of having a better interface (IMO).
