Also, I hope sony releases a new web browser(chrome/FF) app for PS3 since they like to release all this junk I dont really need.
Ok will DL but if it bricks, GAF owns me a PS3.

Photo app useless for me as well, and I don't see how something like that can take up 100+ mb of space.
That's probably because of the audio, or the video has Packed Bitstream.giuliu said:Divx update didn't change anything for me, still can't play any files I can't play before the update.

I actually use my PS3 as a foto viewer from time to time, so it's sort of a letdown that this new update isn't better.

the photo app is not very intuitive. I wonder why didn't Sony include this within the firmware... (maybe the size is huge 100MB+ and they don't want to update it with every new firmware :O)
I found this on the OperationBurnout forums, in a BugZilla report thread, maybe it's related?Narpas Sword0 said:still not openly acknowledging the PSN password change glitch?
Many issues where player data could not be loaded because the PS3 thinks it's for a different user have been fixed by yesterday's PS3 firmware update, 2.60.
Issues where the PS3 could not sync or install trophy data rendering Burnout completely unplayable have been fixed by yesterday's PS3 firmware update, 2.60.

Let's hope R2 gets patched ASAP to take advantage of this. LBP too, though its implementation gets the job done perfectly well already.tanod said:Insomniac post on the blog says that the backend is now there to enable two PSN accounts logged in at the same time.
Cruzader said:Im guessing they release these new features seperately as applications(life with PS/Home) to keep the OS from taking too much space. that way when you press the PS button in a game, it wont take more time to load. Maybe thats why.
Jaruru said:seriously, they mentioned that there're a few CPU in PS3 and only needs one to run the XBL, right? why is it loading SO SLOW when I press the PS button during a game???
It depends by the game, it is an overlay so it renders at the same FPS that the game usesJaruru said:seriously, they mentioned that there're a few CPU in PS3 and only needs one to run the XBL, right? why is it loading SO SLOW when I press the PS button during a game???
There's some new APIs in place. As always. Backend shit you'll never see.Fersis said:So no hidden features this time?

Nice, i want to see those APIs in motionM3wThr33 said:There's some new APIs in place. As always. Backend shit you'll never see.
I posted this at another thread, but they really do need to redo the whole In-Game XMB since it is quit sluggish when I play almost any game, the best thing to do is Pause the game and then go to it. But they really do need to pre-cache it, or just always keep it active so that it doesn't have that loading. They need to make it less obtrusive to the system :lolsquatingyeti said:It's not just that it does and has always been perfect just using a SPU, but that's what they were given to work with. They have to deal with that limitation and try to optimize as best they can.

And then you get the whole argument again about user interface, and problems that occur when you have menus which change depending on context.AndyD said:What would be good is a slimmed version with only the active functions. Sure its nice to hit another game and then it asks you if you want to quit or not, but an option for a slimmed down XMB with just messaging, trophies and the settings options that work is enough for the vast majority of people.
Then make the music and video and Users tabs disappear and grey out some of the settings under that list. Interface design DOES have workarounds for these things. The XMB is designed to be modular and scalable; why not treat it as such?Tntnnbltn said:And then you get the whole argument again about user interface, and problems that occur when you have menus which change depending on context.
Someone could for example be looking for the video display settings but can't find them, because it turns out you have to go through and quit the game, and then that option will appear in the settings menu next time your in the XMB. Stuff like this may be obvious to people like us who have the XMB memorised, but to other people it's not so intuitive.

If it does I'll just avoid it.
