US PSN Summer sale (July 2nd-16th)

I cannot emphasise strongly enough how everyone who doesn't already own it should buy Shadow of the Colossus for just $5. Such an amazing game.

Hope we plebs in the UK get a similar sale to this soon. Sony are generally pretty good at constantly having some kind of sale going, but there's a couple of PS3 and Vita games each that I'd definitely buy here.

Excellent, out of MvC3, BlazBlue and MK - I enjoy MK the most. I haven't played SFvT or DOA.

Great story mode for longer play sessions and the challenge towers are perfect for portable play. You can just drop in, do 2-3 missions and put the Vita down again. All DLC from the console versions is included I believe, so you're getting a definitive version in terms of content.

The only thing I can fault with MK is that they've reduced the graphical detail a lot. It's a solid 60 FPS during fights however, and I think they made the right call to keep the gameplay fluid.

Please, do NOT buy POP Trilogy HD. It's a terrible, buggy and shoddy port of 3 games that haven't aged so well. I bought the disc version and regretted it. While the first game was at least okay since I've played it when it was originally released, things get worse starting with the second game.

List of a few bugs you'll encounter in at least one of the games:
- empty chest glitches (WW)
- graphical glitches (WW mostly, less in SoT and I didn't bother playing TT)
- missing sound effects (at least in WW and SoT)
- freezes (at least in SoT. Best way to avoid that is to stay disconnected from PSN while playing)
- No trophies earned

I'm never buying any more Ubisoft HD collections because of this mess. Splinter Cell HD Collection is terrible too, I've heard.
Hell, I'm not sure I'd even buy any more HD collections outside of the Square-Enix (Japan) ones.
 
Ill pick up the Ratchet Collection for sure. Wish I still had plus. I should buy a month of plus actually...

Thanks for the info, I was interested in popersia, I'll have to look more.

Ratchet & Clank is awesome for that price. My son is actually playing the online multiplayer and there are only 2-3 people playing right now. Hopefully to boosts up with this sale.
 
Gawd... SotC without ICO again? I bought SotC on sale on PSN like two years ago, but was more interested in ICO. Now I can't (dont want to) buy the disc version because I already have SotC! Just put ICO on sale!
 
Hitman and Mortal Kombat are like the only two decent sales in that entire sale. :/
 
I might pick up Scott Pilgrim vs The World, I've always wanted to play that game and that price is pretty good. I've been wanting to play a beat-em up ever since I saw Dragon's Crown and saw a playthrough of an old beat-em up with 4 guys playing it.
 
Hmmm! R&C 2 and 3 are both 7-8 GB together...I could trade off my disc copy of R&C Collection since I didn't like R&C1.
If end up liking 2 and/or 3 I can keep them in my PS3, otherwise I'd just delete them after I finish them~ TIME TO RECHARGE WITH A $50!

Game is fantastic, pretty hard though. A buddy and I got all the way to the final boss and couldn't beat it. Checkpoints aren't great in boss battles. Overal a great game though.

Can you buy only a month yet? The web store only shows me 3-month and 12-month options but maybe that's because I'm in Canada.
 
just LEGO pirates for $5 for me, great sale.

mortal kombat $5 is tempting, but not into fighting games.

prince of persia trilogy seems nice but i guess it sucks based on the posts here so i'll pass i guess.

Batman:AA and SOTC are mine! Since I need to buy more PSN cards, I'll be ready for Dragon's Crown too. My backlog grows even larger...
 
MK on the vita is well worth it. comes with all the dlc plus some extras. It looks like shit, but you'll only really notice it whenever the game zooms in. Also, it does that thing where the backgrounds dont really move around much (like UMVC does). You really dont notice these things when playing it, though.
