USA Network New Show: White Collar

I really like the way USA handles White Collar, don't have to wait too long for new episodes. June is usually when it comes back.

Peter knew. That's why he phrased his recommendation as "He deserves to be free" rather then just "Yes" like everyone else.

The question is: What will Peter do? Neal just fucked all chances of him having a normal life running.

Yeah, looking at it again Peter definitely knew and allowed it. And the producer of the show confirmed as such:

Don't read that if you haven't watched it yet. But yeah, Kramer definitely screwed Neal badly.

TVLINE | So he doesn’t know where they are?
No. A lot of the big questions will be, Is his real name Neal Caffrey? If a fan of the show wants to guess, I wouldn’t do it if I were them. I don’t think the answer is what they think it is, no matter what they think it is. To a certain extent you might be right, but you won’t be right for the reasons you think. The discovery of who Neal was becomes a big part of Season 4.

Oh shit. So this episode was just stringing us along!? :o! This will be good! I am loving the writers are fleshing the characters out.

Also the bit about Peter/Tim DeKay actually believing Neal should be free is interesting.

This is pretty much my fav show other than breaking bad, loving on how the writers are handing this along. cant wait for the next season.

I have an idea on where Season 5 is heading and what can bring Neal and Peter back together.

Remember, the whole Kate and Magic Box mystery is still not resolved. Fowler was working for an unknown man.

This whole escape will become part of a big con to uncover the identity of that man and this will all be somehow related to Neal's past.

Well it is probably
his dad or something

I actually might try to plow through this during the summer. It seems like a decent show and not just the typical USA show.

Do it. It's worth it. Note it's very "mission of the week," but the meta-plot and characters make you forget that.

Was anyone else annoyed that Diana basically just yelled out that Neal was gone in the middle of the hearing instead of taking Peter aside or telling him after he was done?

Someone would've known eventually. And I think Diana didn't know Peter told him to flee.

Yeah, that was retarded.

Even if she didn't, Neal would have to go to the hearing after 5PM. When he didn't show up, they (the panel) would know something is up. And then the FBI would say he was off his anklet and he'd be just as screwed.

Diana coming in to let Peter know would've happened anyway.

Yeah, but why run in and announce it to the entire board the immediate moment after Peter said that his sentence should be commuted and smiled? Like, it's the worst moment possible for that. She should have taken him aside or something.

Unless this is part of their plan or something?

Like I said: She probably wasn't privy to Neal's plan to bolt. Diana's job is to let Peter know the moment Neal's anklet sets off any alarm (Neal's doing something!) and that's why she bolted in. Essentially "Neal's bolting and may possibly not be reformed!" was what the moment was meant to show.

Besides, we never did see what Diana felt to Neal's sentence/commune unlike Jones that thinks Neal should continue to work for the FBI without being a totally free man. She may have felt similar (but given the FBI runaround she helped him with, doubtful) and didn't care about "pulling Peter aside to let him know quietly."

I feel it was a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" moment.

Peter warning him off was enough for me, I didn't even need his answer or the rest, could have taken any cliffhanger really. Would have been fun if Peter was told Neal cut and run before he had to give his answer, like Diana came in and whispered it (ala Bush on 9/11) and before he answered we cut to black.

I thought the show had pretty much established that's not his real name, but just his "popular" alias. I seem to remember an early episode where one of the dudes of the week (maybe Keller in his first appearance) said "you're going by Caffrey again?" or something along those lines.

Only just getting to the finale. Another good season of White Collar, and I'm excited to see where they go from here. Didn't see that ending coming.

just finished this season. Damn that was good.

I like neal and sara together but who knows what will happen with that now.

Next season i think peter will be under investigation and on paid leave so he will take that time to go and try and track neal down wherever he is, maybe uncovering some of his past.

Can't wait for the next season. And the supervillian will probably end up being neals dad or kramer himself.

Yea I can't wait to see Peter hunt down Neal, hopefully with limited resources. Be a cool game of cat and mouse. I disagree about Sara though, she feels so fake/forced. And the idea of Neal's Dad as the supervillain is so obvious that it's bound to be true.

freaking awesome! Can't wait for this show to come back next month. I love the complete new direction here, though I'll miss the bromance between Neil and Peter.

I wonder how long on the run he'll ultimately be.

I have a bad feeling they'll be right back to the mission of the week stuff within a couple episodes.. although I'd love to see this thing go longer

I am hoping 4-5 Episodes on the run. But I agree, it will probably be 2.

Just watched the season finale again. The ending is perfect, with Peter's signal to Neal and the statement he is making to the committee interspersed with Neal's escape sequence.

"Yes, I am saying that Neal should be free"

Well I know they did some on location shooting in Puerto Rico so hopefully they wouldn't waste the opportunity on just one episode!

Noooo... going to be on vacation when the first episode airs. Told my dad (who also watches) and his response was the same as mine "Well shit." Will have to feign illness that night to stay in.

Watching Seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix again, I can't remember whether they ended things with just Vincent Adler being the mastermind behind the music box/Kate or was there any hint given to someone above him being involved too?

I think it was just Adler. I also think they realized that storyline sucked and wanted to move on from that. Glad they did because the Season 3 storyline was awesome.

True.

I am assuming in S4 we will see Neal's Dad and explore his past more.

And I hope they finally give us the episode on how Peter caught Neal the first time.

This show needed a change, hopefully they actually follow through with the change and don't pull a Burn Notice or House and just use the change for 1-2 episodes, then go back to normal.

Season 2 - Forging Bonds

Damn that's the episode that is paused while I go out to get food. How could I forget.

Peter and Neal are together after 2 episodes. The 3rd episode synopsis is:

Peter and Neal go up against David Cook (Michael Weston), a criminal mastermind that Peter has been tracking since joining the FBI.

And No, that is not Michael Weston the Burn Notice character. Just an actor with the same name! I am wondering what the overall story arc for Season 4 will be though.
