I still think they missed a golden opportunity when it started raining in the episode. They should have played "Raining Blood" when it happened.

Watched a few episodes last season but ultimately stopped because I couldn't handle the blonde chicks douchebag son. Does he still exist?

I missed a bit because of ABC's crappy reception in my area. What were they talking about right after
they killed the Visitor tracker outside of the scientist's lab with the V skeleton? It kept cutting in and out so all I got was something about pregnancy and potassium.

I enjoyed the premiere, definitely looking forward to more. I hadnt realized that Marc Singer was also confirmed to have a role, that is good news. It's unlikely, but it would be wonderful if somehow he and Diana met. Sure they arent the same characters, but it would be great.

I only saw the first several episodes of Season One because of my affection for Morena. Did the show improve over time, or did it generally just remain where it was?

I still want Michael Ironside to show up, perhaps as the man that trained Hobbes. And once Marc Singer arrives, have someone call him "Gooder" just for a goof.

It appears it's likely the V were experimenting with her and her son even in their pregnancy, thats why she had high levels of phosphorus.

It remained where it was, then it sank to new lows. Morena is amazing anyway and one of the few reasons I still watch, I love female villains.

That's disappointing. Would really like to have shown support for her work, but... it just wasn't a show I enjoyed. Oh well. I'm sure I'll see her again in the future.

Did we watch the same show? There is no way in hell the first few eps of S1 are better than the last 5, in terms of writing, pacing, and story development everything changed for the better when it returned from its 1st half break

That's unfortunate... I thought that the pilot was ok, but then it got incredibly worse by the seventh episode when I jumped ship.

I was hoping it'd be better, but last night's episode got a D- from the AVClub.

Maybe Kryceck is really a V and that's why he thinks Tyler isn't his son :lol

Well opinions and all, but the whole John Mays stuff, plus the cheesiness of the whole human emotion factor really were horrible. The first episodes with the way Ana played politics were more interesting for me.

Holy fuck at half naked Lisa. Sure she's got no ass, but DAYUM

And Ana playing the voyeur to her own daughter :lol

yeah that was kinky. Fulfill your duties, all of them! Good job :D

oh and 10 bucks that she will kill Diana next :lol

Did anyone else think that the intro scene with Tyler's face "melting" in gratuitous detail was kind of fan service given how much his character seems to be hated?

Also, he's not even that hot...his body during the "show him how much you've missed him" scene was kind of doughy, especially next to super fit Lisa...his character is truly useless, but unfortunately it seems like they're making him pivotal to his mom's "was i tested on during pregnancy" story.

V comes back Tuesday, January 4th. The first season started ok, got pretty bad, but started to pick up near the end under new show runner Scott Rosenbaum.

GOOD NEWS: Jane Badler will return as Diana in season 2. They have also cast Marc Singer as another Fifth Columnist. The end of season one had promise, and hopefully they can deliver.

Is anyone else looking forward to this season?

HOLY SH*T! I didn't see the first season but now I have to watch this season.

While it got better in some ways it became even more apparent that the writers didn't know where they were going with the plot with all the characters just kinda puttering around. The back half of S1 traded one form of bad for another.

Also the CGI never stopped being bad.

Besides the whole tail sequence I found the CG and the mothership sets to look quite a bit better than last season so far. Looks like a little less bluescreen and a little more actual sets and props.

It did look better. Some shots still looked very, very blue screen (anytime there was a character in the background and they had to shift focus especially), but it was a definite improvement.

That was my biggest issue with S1. Every time they were on that damn ship, it looked as if everyone was floating 1" above the floor, because of the blue screen.

I mean we all know that the original was campy as hell, but at leas they built real sets, which gave it some believability...

Now all they need to do is kill of Tyler and all will be right in the world.

Decent start to the season but I also want Tyler to go away for a long time.

Also, when the Mom was worried about her phosphorus levels I was coming to the conclusion that one of her parents was a V. Ha.

Holy shit this show is bad. I don't know why I still watch it. Do they film the actors on separate green screens and put them together? Because he's supposed to be behind her and look how fucking big his head and his shoulders are!

She has a disproportionately small head.

Ok

But
the CG when her son's face was melting was so so bad. And when the black guy was getting dragged off the ship, he was only struggling with his upper body. He actually started jogging when he got near to the door.

One thing I do have to say though is that I wish Morena had been able to keep her hair long for this role. She looked so much better with that long curly hair than with what she's got now. I suppose being big important alien leader/manipulator pretty much calls for this style, but still...

From the other thread...

I can't put my finger on it...but something has changed about the production value/scripting/direction....of the show. It's different.

Anyone remember the first episode last season? Remember how rushed and thrown together everything was? The pacing of the show was just off right? And it always felt like they were always trying to FIX what was broken with the show, yet they didn't know how.

Well....the season two premiere felt like an entirely different production crew had put it together.

Cast is the same.

But pacing, dialog...camera angles... the damn thing just feels...SLOWER...but more done. It just feels right.

Unfortunately...

1) I don't feel vested in any of the characters because the first season was so below average

2) the backgrounds look pretty damn fake.

3) the cop's son is in no fuckin' way worthy of Supergirl being his love toy. Show deserves cancellation for that alone.

BUT...the pacing of the show is more akin to Fringe now. Not saying it'll work for everyone, but I like it. Hope the show has a chance to shake off the bitter taste of the first season.

When the whole cast of the 5th column is together in a scene the acting is cringe worthy. Especially that new doctor.

WHAT?? SGU got cancelled? Did I miss something? Fuck, i'm so out of the loop with my shows. Hulu queue: 109 :(
and half of them are fucking expired!

Tyler: "Mom, everybody here is rioting, wahhhhh."

Mom: "I'm coming snicker-dootles!"

(Tyler continues to stand in the same spot like a stray infant until his mommy arrives.)

Yeah, that's why everyone hates Tyler.

Stargate got renewed in the same year this did. Both shows aired their first seasons in the same timeframe, but V took longer to come back for season 2. NBC had to choose between this and Flashfoward (they really could not afford to replace both shows if they killed them), and made the right choice IMO. SyFy gave Stargate the same season 2 chance this is getting, but they failed to change/advance. Hopefully this might fair better.

Of course, if NBC did not prematurely kill Journeyman, everything would be better nowadays. :/

Oh my god, I literally just shed a tear remembering that show. I tried so hard to forget about it. :( (i remember being being a member on one of those 'bring it back' blog/petition things... fucking never works)

This is the truth. I loved the 80's version. It was cheasy back then but somehow the actors held it together.

This new show, I want Anna to win and just wipe out the planet. The acting is so bad, I want something horrible to happen to them. I'll watch probably one or two more episodes to see what they do with Anna, Diana, Marc Singer, and Michael J Fox. I'll also watch for the blonde eye candy Anna's daugther. Even though I dont think her acting is all that bad either.

PS. I know MJF isnt MJF

But that's the caliber of dialogue in the whole show...it's infantile.

Damn, I was hoping for the
"skin her"
scene this week.

Speaking of, they spoil way too much in the previews.

Just watched Ep 2. This show is a complete guilty pleasure. I know the acting and dialogue are crap but I just can't help being excited for the next episode when the current one ends.

This is so true. I couldn't believe it when I saw that sequence. So goddamn stupid.

God dammit I hate this "human soul needed to make a baby" bullshit. And pretty much any of this religious crap that an advanced alien race would give zero thought to. Did the original have the same plot device?
