I don't like the Japanese opening.
Is the only difference the music? Because that is the same video that I saw when I loaded it up. And I must say, I prefer the orchestral music.

Hcoregamer00 said:Yeah, tell me about it, I wish this game was not coming out in a MONTH for the USA audience.
(Or 1 month and 1 day to be specific)

I need to play this properly, the amount of instructions put me off.
I also haven't play an RPG since ages, turn based felt a bit wtf for me.

Sorry, no. I let it loop twice and no song intro, just the instrumental one.

The japanese game doesn't has trophies. It has something similar but it is just internal for the game, you can win decorations depending on how well you do in the missions.Baha said:someone mentioned trophies earlier in the thread, any truth to that?
Hcoregamer00 said:There are lots of instructions, but the game felt quite intuitive after playing it for a while.
Keep on playing it until the game is released and you master basic control and strategy that would make Valkyria a far more enjoyable experience.

Well how long was it for you?
Neither the snipers.Baha said:The only enemies that won't fire at you when in range are the lancers. .

An advice:
To obtain the best rank in each mission the only thing that matters is the number of turns it takes to you to accomplish the objective. It doesn't matter if you kill a lot of soldiers or not. The best rank = the best xp and money.
Maybe, but many of the parts (art, presentation, gameplay, controls, UI, music) are already amazing by themselves.Honolulu said:I'm intriqued by this game.
Actually looks one of those titles that might be better than the sum of its parts.
Not really, no. The only similarity is the AP system. However, in this game you control a rather large number of different units, and the return fire system (that is, the fact that all units shoot at active enemies that enter their range) opens up a lot of tactical options. It's really a very unique blend of TBS, RTS and RPG. I've played far too many games in all those genres and not encountered anything like it before.Honolulu said:The core gameplay during battles seems to me to actually to have a lot in common with the battlesystem in the older fallout-titles, just exchange the hexagon-grid-movement-system with direct-movement.

It will probably go up closer to release, like all the qore only demos. It's stupid that they chose this game when the demo is free elsewhere. But as long as they put it up before release in NA, adding it to qore might get some more exposure. Don't know how popular qore is really. :lolDiablos said:Ok... I need to stop playing this game and actually start the one I just paid $60 for. Holy crap, best demo ever :lol
edit: Seriously though, why the hell isn't this on the PS3 US store for download? It's a demo, how hard is this? Put it up!
Yeah, I always used right stick first instinctively. There's control settings but I never bothered looking, hopefully you can change that though I rather doubt it.Johnkers said:Why do games use the left stick for targeting![]()

Everything's paused when you aim anyway, so even if you forget it won't matter, just a second to realize.Johnkers said:You can't change it in the demo, maybe in the full game. At least it offers invert though. Thank god for that

That's good to hear, I know I'm going to suck at this game!Kyoufu said:Yeah, but getting there isn't! The battle withwas LONG and EPIC!Gerbil
Once you get far enough in the game though, theres a skirmish you can do over and over for easy XP, which means you can upgrade everyone easily thus making the game much easier.
