Valkyrie Profile Lenneth - Gamespot Review

I use Jayle in almost all my playthroughs of VP, awesome regular hits, awesome PWS, great damage all around.

I almost used her instead of Lawfer. I just wanted a spear-wielder to join my mage, archer, and sword-wielder.

I wish I could get Janus back. Vastly superior to the awful Batrach, or whatever his name is...

I like using Lawfer but he becomes weaker as the game goes on since his stat growth just isn't as good as the later characters. It's the same reason why I try not to use Jin as much as well despite the fact I like him.

Jun? I grew to loathe him in getting him from lv 10 to 25 over the course of one dungeon. He has a hard time hitting grounded or flying foes. Very annoying. Unless, of course, you hesitate when linking some of your attacks. And even then, that didn't help much with flying foes. I don't know, he just wasn't doing it for me.

In the second to last chapter, in the final dungeon, you get one of Aelia's most powerful weapons in the game.

Trust me, you'll want to build her up. Dreaded Dragon is very, very helpful. :)

Jin, Jun, same thing. Damn samurai with a bad accent.

Anyway, I had no issues with landing hits with him myself but his damage becomes really bleh as you go. I might try and beef him to make him or Lawfer stronger than Jayle (who also is a light fighter) in a run through the game eventually.

Edit:
Alright. Just got started with Chapter 7. Sent up Nanani as my Ch. 7 transfer (don't need another mage, she's my weakest, and she meets all of the criteria. Excellent.) Acquired Suo, who apparently will be my final recruit. I'll raise him to be the Chapter 8 transfer (which is unnecessary, I know, but for completion's sake...)

I'm kind of disappointed how short of content Chapters 6, and 7 turned out. In 6 I just wound up doing the Lost City of Dipan again and again for items and exp until I ran out of periods, and it looks like 7 will be little different. At least 7 only has one new recruit to bugger with, instead of 3.

Still, now it's just a matter of a rather annoying end-of-game grind sessions before completing the story!

I am in the second to last chapter, and she's level 25. That's still a good enough level to bring back in if she proves worthy, which I doubt. I don't like her. A weapon is unlikely to change that.

67 in Chapter 2? Seems a bit low for the chapter, but not even close to beyond redemption, if you're talking about Eval level. If, instead, you mean Seal Rating, then I'd love to know your secret! :lol

No, at least with the A ending that is.

I went with Kashell and Mystina as my other main characters.

Shit! Unfair! He was too awesome. And so much for a happy ending. Not surprising, I suppose.

I think that you misunderstood my answer o.o

Not at all, my good man! I merely forgot how I phrased my question!!

Or, more to truth, which question I asked. :D

Is Lucian coming back?
vs.
Is Lucian dead for good?

Thank you. :)

IF you are already in chapter 7 or 8, better wait a little longer and watch it yourself.

I am only going to ask you something, do you remember why Odin was the most powerfull God? what exactly made him so powerfull?

After you analize that, then think about Valkyries quest, and you will more or less imagine what she is bound to become by the time you reach the Final Battle :D

Of course. I realized sometime during Lezard's not-so-insane ravings what Lenneth Valkyrie must be. After all, she DOES level up!! And, going by the story, she kills Loki,
who kills both Surt and Odin!

It really wasnt like Loki really defeated Odin in a fair battle. Odin died protecting Freya cuz he loves her. I still think that Odin would have been able to defeat Loki given the righ circumstances. Anyway, if Odin was great, Valkyrie will be better, she will receive the maximum power, or better know as "THE POWER OF .......... go and finish the game :lol

BTW, in which chapter are you right now?

I still have a copy of the ps1 game and have my saved game just before the final battle.

Ahh, they actually show the fight between Loki and Odin? It didn't seem like it, from what I saw. Just Odin calling off Freya, then in a later scene, Freya mourning Odin's unresponsive form.

I'm in the Forest of Spirits (surprisingly annoying) in Chapter 7. Finally found the save spot. If I don't properly Fire Lance Greater Magic PWS the entire party of Mandoragas, they can easily wipe out my party in one round! (I know, I had to reload once!). But now that I've found the save spot, I'll slowly conquer them.

Actually, I think I have. I've got 3 of the 4 necessary ingredients.

I'm about to buy a PSP just for this game... Haven't been able to get the PSone version of ebay/amazon for anything less then $150. =(

Yeah, thats the most difficult level of the whole game. If my memory serves me right, not even the enemies of the Ragnarok are as difficult and dangerous.

Yeah, I finished with the Forest of Spirits. Though now I'm in it a second time in order to access the previously sealed off area...

I imagine I was supposed to send the repaired Accursed Fire Gem straight up to Odin, yes?

Lawfer is considered one of the best characters in the game if not the best. His 3rd attack can almost fill a bar by itself, and his PWS is one of the most damaging in the game.

Yep. I just finished powering up Suo (my only new Chapter 7 recruit) enough for him to be successful final transfer fodder, and now I replaced him with trusty Lawfer again.

Man, those harpy thingies in the tail end of the Forest of Spirits can pump out sick exp if you juggle them just so. And the Elven Bow artifact I got there CRUSHED all of the other 3-hit bows in my possession. Awesome. Lenneth is kicking ass like never before!

Yeah, you can get a lot of experience in that level. Thats what i used to level up my characters. I found an item that let me reverse all the periods on a chapter, so after i run out of periods, i just used it and re-entered that level a couple of times more.

BTW, have you noticed how this has turned into a two-people conversation thread :lol

Okay, really dumb question time. I just finished the first dungeon, Freya left my party- what the heck do I do now? I've just been flying around to different towns, wasting periods. I can't seem to do anything meaningful anywhere. I went to the field where the two kids die in the prologue, and there was this big cinema, but I can't seem to make anything happen.

Er... well, probably best to start the game over, actually, because you're doing some stuff there you shouldn't be.

When you get out in the world, you just press Start to do Spiritual Concentration. This'll unseal new dungeons, and it'll locate souls on the verge of death. Go to those locations to recruit the soul, then go grind in the unlocked dungeons.

I went crazy and didn't really level at all and I got the A ending.
Bloodbane
at level 25 is not a fun battle.

A ending? Are you really sure? cuz i dont know anyone that has obtained the A ending without playing the game to actually get it. eah, its that difficult and weird to obtain.

I think that you just got the A ending.

And yes, bloodbane is not really fun at level 25, far from it.

My team (Lenneth, Arngrim, Lawfer, Mystina), are all level 40-43 now! :D

Grinding away at the the Forest of Spirits until I'm out of Chapter 7 periods. Very slow and annoying. What items allows you to reverse periods? I never even heard of it!

Hourglass of the Gods - restores five periods of time

Chapter 8 Palace of the Dragon(Hard and Normal), one time use I think.

Awesome. That's my next chapter/location, I guess. Once I'm done grinding the Forest of Spirits another 3 or 4 times... :/

Mejilan said:
OOooh, neato. How do you get that? Hard mode? Is it one-use?
Chapter Eight, the place is called Cave of the Dragons or something like that, i only remember that the name ends with Dragons.

You should also grind out in "Oldrock" cave because Lesser Vampire(The one with the higher HP) drops broken spear(Use Creation Jewel to transmute to Crismson Edge) for a lot of MP points over 6,000 I think.

I've got a ton of Crimson Edges. Don't really use my MPs for anything, and I don't know if I have the patience to grind for the 100,000 a 2nd Orihalcon requires.

What combination did you use for getting treasure? My Combination is Valkyrie/w Bow and Lawfer with Spear.

Treasure is VERY easy to come by. I focus on experience crystals, and lacking Lucian (*sniff*), I use Lenneth with an Elven Bow (or some 3-hit bow) to launch, and trade off between Anrgrim (Glare Blade) and Lawfer (Crimson Edge) to maintain the juggle, and use Lenneth's remaining bow-shots for extra loot and crystals.

I'll throw in a Mystina spell to start the chain, if necessary, or end it, for kicks.

I have the same setup but I'm using Gram for Angrrim. Is there a reason for using Glare blade?

I'll get Gram in the 7-8 Sacred Phase.

Needless to say, I've got a Gem of Creation in there too somewhere. Or Gem of Activity. Or both. I can't keep them straight. :) Creation, I think.

So I took your advice and got rid of the 17 Crimson Edges (6050 a pop) and now I've got a Gram a bit early. Soon I'll have two. Great weapon. Slaughters the Glare Sword!

Valkyrie and Gram are made for each other. :D

I gave it to Arngrim for now. Perhaps when I get the second Gram, I'll give that to Valkyrie. She's just so freakin' great with that Elven Bow...

1.) What else am I going to spend my hundreds of thousands of Materialize Points on?
2.) I'm not playing in Hard mode, so the Seraphic Gate is pretty pointless to me.
3.) JUST CAUSE!

Well, I'm wasting my Materialize point on 99x Angel Curio:D, got to beat the Queen 10 times.:lol . It not pointless... Fight the Queen with all your might.
