Doc, Jackson, and James Urbaniak at Dragon-Con.

Their panel was presented in a talkshow format called "Let's All Smoking"

Part 1 Part 1 has clips from the Halloween special. It's filmed on a small monitor, but the animation looks much higher quality than the Shallow Gravy special.
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

I haven't watched it yet, so I don't know how informative it is or how awkward the audience interaction is.
Shallow Gravy was flash-animated by Titmouse, right? Is the Halloween special by them as well?

I'm not even three minutes into part one and I'm laughing like an idiot. Thanks for linking this!

Yeah, Titmous did SG, and I thought they were doing this one, but the clips look like the rest of the series.

That's cause it is. It was originally going to air mid season but they decided to move it up in schedule for the Holiday and as a gift of sorts to satiate our appetites since the long ass break in between seasons.

During Part 3 they say that
H. Jon Benjamin
will be returning as
The Master
.

In part 4, a fan straight-face asks them if they're familiar with My Little Pony. Urbaniak obliviously insults him by accident.
Also, they say sort of nonchalantly that the t-shirt club will be back.

I've watched the whole panel now. Fan questions were mostly the usual "who's your favorite voice, what's your favorite episode," a few awkward questions asking for spoilers, one notable awkward moment where a girl asked if we were going to see something that already happened, and a couple of silly ones like "waffles or pancakes."

The guys were pretty funny though.

Holy crap, really? I subscribed last time but lost 170 pounds in the last year so the shirts now fit terribly! I went from a 5X to L and actually subscribed in the first place more as a way to support the show as I never thought I'd be able to fit into the 2X t-shirt max. Awesome news!

Being 4:3 doesn't mean it can't be HD, as the latest season of Beavis & Butthead can attest to.

Adult Swim shows are real bad about putting out blu rays. Squidbillies has crude animation, but I'd still like a blu ray release for it, for example.

It's not Cartoon Network's fault, but I really, really, really hate Sony for sitting on Blu-rays for The Boondocks. That show has top-notch animation and we're stuck with DVDs.

Seasons 1 and 2 on Blu would make me very happy.

Also what was that CD they were handing out in the videos? Some comedy album from Doc Hammer?

Agreed. :(

Seriously can't wait...Venture Bros. is one of my all time favorites, and it's great to see the animation hasn't dropped at all.

From what I've heard, the studio that did the work before they shipped it overseas to get animated closed, which is why the Shallow Gravy special was Titmouse. Now they're doing the storyboarding and pre-animation only, and it's the same overseas studio doing the work.

Also, Jackson and Doc have said they're really excited to talk about Season 6 and the hour long special in between 5 and 6.

Off topic, but congratulations. Realizing your clothes don't fit because you dropped a size is the very best kind of bad news.

World Leaders Entertainment shut down? Didn't know that.

Anyway, Titmouse has been producing some seriously good stuff over the years, so personally I'm hyped.

Lol ok I'm a week late on this news but seems the name & date for the halloween special have been announced.

"A Very Venture Halloween" airs the 28th of this month at 11:30 (I'm guessing EST).

From Jackson Himself:

So looks like not till next year. This will be the longest wait between seasons ever. We're already going on 2 years now (if you don't count the Shallow Gravy special from last summer)

Jesus what a bunch of lazy ****. They should stop smoking weed & texting or whatever they do on their free time & maybe get to work more often. I mean there are hundreds of cartoons out that put out 24 episodes out yearly & a lot of them probably don't have as much DVD sales or TV ratings as the Ventures. They definitely don't have a fanbase wanting more as much as the Ventures.

A whopping 10 episodes in a 2 year span. No one can defend them on their laziness.

So much wrong with this post. First off, you realize that was my original post from when I started this thread back in April right? It's October now and not only are we getting a new 30 special in 22 days but January is only 3 months away now. So the wait isn't nearly as bad.

Besides, it takes them so long because it's pretty much just Jackson & Doc doing everything from the writing to voices and whatnot.

Yeah, they're very hands on creators. It fucking sucks but it's always worth it.

I've been meaning to do a s1 re-watch.

Yeah, let's not Ignore all the work Jackson and Doc put into this show all by themselves. Watch the credits and compare it to any other cartoon and you'll understand they do so much more work. Not to mention the modest budget they probably work with.

So looking forward to S5. Watching venture bros right now and I just keep getting more pumped for it.

I couldn't really tell what was happening in most of it due to the angle the guy captured it on. I did notice The Monarch dressed up as Mongo the Magnificent circa the 1980 film

Looks as crazy as ever.

Also finally an episode devoted to
the original Team Venture.
And WTF at
Hank and Dean apparently dying again.

Rusty has his pink speedsuit and Brock is there, I'm guessing/hoping it's a flashback.

And it looks like
Monarch is giving Rusty a dental appointment...which might be his best henching plan ever.

hard to be connected???? to a cartoon... especially when s4 ending as sooooooo many open threads just waiting for sweat closure.

dude its mainly a 2 man writing team, give them a fucking break.

This. Not only do they write and direct the show themselves but they also do like half of the voices. Shit takes a long time.

I just saw these replies because of the bump, didn't see them when they were first posted.

Not for nothing but South Park is pretty much just Trey and Matt writing, and doing half the voices as well. They manage to hit a regular production schedule, hell they do better than that, considering a lot of their episodes get insane rewrites just days before it airs.

I can totally respect the guys working on Venture Bros, and it's a great show, but they are INSANELY SLOW. 2 years for 10 episodes really is painfully slow, and yes does hurt the connection with the audience.

To deny that waiting 2 years between seasons is a bad thing is just silly.
