VG Tech: Rage Xbox 360 vs Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Frame Rate Test

It appears that the dynamic resolution is much less likely to engage on Xbox One than on Xbox 360. Pixel counts for some of the most demanding scenes on Xbox One come back as 1280x720 with similar scenes noticeably dropping below this on Xbox 360.

There seems to be a bug that causes audio playback issues on Xbox One. This can be fixed be transitioning between areas. There also seems to be a rare bug on Xbox One that causes the frame rate to drop significantly followed by the game completely crashing (http://imgur.com/a/WTHWF). This bug only happened once in over 3 hours of gameplay.

I completely forgot how good this already ran on the Xbox 360. This is some impressive stuff.

Managed to pick up a used copy for £1(!) yesterday, after getting rid of my old copy waay before bc existed. Booted it up this morning and wow, exactly as I remember it. Look forward to a xmas replay after I get through the current crop of new games. I really did love rage when it came out. Not surprised it holds up so well with the tech they employed with their games from rage onwards, makes me happy to think how wolfenstein and doom will hold up over the next few years.

Runs perfect, but at least to me, there is an audio glitch. Music stops and starts again randomly after a few minute playing.

Hmmm, I didn't notice this, played up through clearing out the ghost hideout and heading back to base. Maybe a full reboot will help, that seems to solve most Xbox 1 problems haha. I'm not in the preview build, for reference. Although, lol, I forgot, this was maybe the largest game I had on my 360 back in the day, 20-odd gigabytes was huge then.

Played this a few years back, got up to where I needed to go to 'the final bit' and completely forgot about it.
Jumped in again yesterday and immediately got blown up by another car. I think I need to upgrade...

The game runs really well though - only downside is the loading times, but the areas are massive so it's forgivable (plus no disc swapping on Xbox One)
I really like the character models too! I was always surprised how animated they were

Also...
JOHN GOODMAN!!

It played beautifully for me through a maybe one or two hour session. One caveat, and I can't remember for sure if it was just the game or a quirk of the BC: Was the texture streaming on foot always a little slow to show up at full detail?

Glad it runs well, the copy that I paid 2.66 GWs for should be arriving today.

I only played this game previously on the PC. Maybe I'll actually finish it this time.
