I wonder if MS would be trying to force big 3rd parties to held back multiplat next gen games until both versions are released? That would be pretty crazy but PS4 probably couldnt launch without Watch dogs, AC4, COD, BF4, etc...

Why? Everybody and their dog has been saying October - manufacturing rumours had them building units mid summer, there haven't been leaks about trouble with yields or major tweaks to specs, and they haven't had to make wholesale changes a la Microsoft.

I think it's more a case of people hoping for October rather than there being a lot of independent corroboration of that. Smooth manufacturing from late summer points no more to Oct than Nov IMO.
