I liked this one.

About the fucking panels, let him do what he wants. Good lord, its like you are physically in pain looking at more panels.

They don't actually care. They just think bitching about the amount of panels is what they're supposed to do.

But anywho! This was the first good one in a while.

well complaining about panels is the only way to complain about something thats so subjective.

I use it all the time.

How do you feel about the president?
too many panels

How do you feel about the economy?
panels....why so many. They are taking our jobs

How do you feel about Katie Couric
She's faaaabulous....with a copious amount panels or not.

Would have been better without the suicide note. All it does is beat you over the head with the point Scott is making, which dampers the joke. The picture of Banjo and Kazooie with her dangling in the background is enough.

Other than that, it's pretty good. In before too many panels. Oh wait.

I loaded up this thread and just saw the first four panels... and I was pleasantly surprised to see an amusing VGCats comic... then I scrolled down and found a few rather bland panels attached to the top four.

Wow, the last panel was so badly drawn, I thought Kazooie was just walking away, it took me a while to realize she hung herself.

Pity Scott doesn't do the same.

Holy shit. :lol :lol :lol

Fuck the haters. The site has popped out gems like this and the Ms. Pac-Man one. I can't hate on it.

2 / 263... well, can't argue with those numbers.

Gaf doesn't hate this one, mainly because it's bloody brilliant.

Again further proof that all Scott truely needs is an editor.

Also that comic only has 3 panels. Coincedence? No.

Yes, actually. The 2-panel version you just quoted doesn't make it better.

Well, for once I found a VGCats funny. But my apparently above average attention span may have had something to do with it.

That said why the hell does he have to shoe horn in that fucking cat of his into every strip?

This comic wasn't bad, but man, this guy's execution is just horrible. Too many panels, too many unnecessary elements. These jokes aren't complex enough to justify it.

Someday I want Scott to make a MGS comic about Kojima needing an editor, though. For the laughs.

He really does need to think about how to convey the joke in as few strips as possible. Theres far too much setup here for a joke that isn't complicated: Kazooie has been replaced by a wrench.

This wasn't really as over saturated as the Gamecube strip he did a while ago.

The entire message is essentially the unnecessary change in gameplay elements. Transplanting Banjo and Kazooie to a vehicle customization game really seems odd considering the original two were platform adventure games.

Overall, it delivers the message well enough and ends.

It's funny because it's true.

It also relies heavily on facial expressions, which were always VGCats strong point.

Eh, it wasn't bad at all, could have been very promising if you cut out about half the panels but still isn't actually cringeworthy like most of his stuff. I'd smiled.

Hey guys, sexy party in the gold room! There will be peanut butter and jelly, but don't worry about the bread because we'll be too busy rubbing it on each other.

I never understood GAF's obsession with hating on VG Cats.

Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's not. There's hundreds of far worse web comics out there.

I mean, this isn't a professional video game or a movie or a comic book. It's a web-comic by a non-professional, who isn't paid to do this, he does this on the side for "fun".

It's free and you don't have to even visit it! The art isn't half bad. Sure his comics can be overly long in writing/panles, so?

Every new comic he comes out gets its own 3+ page thread on GAF like clockwork. Why?

Maybe its because he has some web notoriety and GAF thinks he doesn't deserve it due to his perceived lack of talent?

Is that it? Am I close?

So much hate here.

I'm not even defending the guy I'm just trying to understand.

I thought it was pretty funny.. but probably because it touched on the exact reason why I wish they put this idea into a new IP and let the characters who actually have physical abilities to use their physical abilities instead of replacing them with new ideas

On that note..

I don't get you make two good warmup games (VP1 and 2), signaling a comeback, then botch the main event.

Nuts & Bolts is by far the Triplest Triple A game I've played this year.

How many Jiggies are you up to and when did it start losing you?

;D

:lol I thought he was just walking away on the last panel, the only reason I realised she had hung herself was because The-Switcher mentioned it.

I actually think the whole "building vehicles" idea would be more fitting in another Rare IP:

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts may very well be the closest thing we ever get to a Blast Corps 2, sans the transforming robots.

Bravo, Death_Born!

We used to have VGcats Photoshop threads here on GAF, where some users edited every issue to make it funnier, just for the laughs and with absolutely no hate involved. Despite the threads being even longer, you wouldn't read anyone complain for the excess of panels or stuff like that.
Unfortunately, many of these users got bored and stopped doing it, making people defending/complaining about VGcats look more vocal, and these threads are now pale shadows of their former self.

I'd probably drop the last 3 panels and leave it at the denial of expectations. It's repeated its point twice by then, and its a convenient cut-off point as it still has a single cohesive art style at that point. The last three frames just repeat the point twice again, which is somewhat unnecessary.

Those convey the same point as the first six panels, but not in a funny way. People who haven't played the game also might not understand the joke. The point of the first 2 panels was to make plainly clear what game he's talking about and what that wrench-thing is.

That is the very essence of the entire comic, but it's not quite enough. The fact that Kazooie is now redundant is not inherently funny.

GAF rags on VGcats because the main characters are furries (only in the sonic avatar kind of sense though). That and they only ever read newspaper comics with 3 panels so are scared when they have to read any more than that.
