I'm not saying Victoria can't sing or dance or whatever, I am saying that Ariana has talent that far surpasses the teen pop crowd.

And I also have this badly thought up conspiracy theory that Dan knows that Ariana was accidentally becoming favourite on the show, and so dumbed down her lines and made Cat into a stupid comic relief character for the second season just to take the focus off of her a little.

She can sing, but I'm not sure she can do much else. She also still seems like a kid. The thing about Justice and Cosgrove is that they seem more mature, more focused on their work. I don't know if Ariana would respond well to all the pressure and work being the lead requires. The formula for these shows also tends to have a straight-man in the lead, surrounded by goofy characters. I doubt being the straight-man plays to Ariana's strengths.
