I'm sure if you looked into their Twitter inbox you'd sing a different song. This kind of criticism of the gaming public needs to get out there. Or we just roll over and accept our toxic community.
So eager to get that first post.Very big of them to put their ego aside and admit when you're wrong
You're right, they should submit to the fanboy whiners and give it a 10/10.
Not really, but there certainly is a big move of creating that narrative anyway.wait
did people seriously flip out again over an uncharted game getting a not perfect score?
So eager to get that first post.

So that the 10s can then be averaged while folks salivate and hand-wring over how many more are required to move up to the next point on Metacritic.
Very big of them to put their ego aside and admit when you're wrong
People saying there was no outrage while raging over a satire piece.
You really think that was a sincere apology?

The amount of people not getting this is great.
Should've been Golden Abyss. YOU SWIPE THAT TOUCH PAD STEVE
Opinions are like knives: they kill peopleThat guy got away pretty easy, you can't just have opinions like that whenever you want!
I haven't read all the comments, but there's always something to learn from criticism. Even more so if it comes from those who pay your groceries.
Especially someone who makes a living from criticizing other people's work, should be able to take it as much as dishing it. Which is something in which many reviewers seem to be lacking nowadays.
Something like this, besides being clickbait, mocks said criticism in a rather thinly veiled attempt to pass the idea that their reviews shouldn't be criticized because they're "muh opinion!". Which is rather silly to me.
Even though we have punished Steve by beating him with sticks and making him play Uncharted 3 again, he still found the strength to ask that you please accept his sincere apologies..
satire
ˈsatʌɪə/Submit
noun
the use of humour, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues (like extremely important game reviews and the like).
Wait do you actually think it was supposed to be? I thought you were some master-level satirist but now I.....wow.

Fair enough. I thought the IGN reviewer was unfairly targeted while Videogamer and Gamesrader were largely ignored ( may be have targeted by a few people but that happens with almost any slightly low review for a hyped game) .
Video games are serious business.
I played into it a little too hard and ruined the joke.
Saw a couple people point out this message as if it flew over Viewtiful's head, and was going to mention they read it back carefully, but I see others have done so already lol.![]()

Hahahaha.
Uncharted reviews.
It's fine if they don't like it. It's not fine if they are accusing people of an agenda because they don't like it. They are literally attacking their integrity because they like a game they haven't played yet.
I don't think the intent of this piece is to say that reviews should be immune from criticism. Rather, it's to say that the kind of user criticism it describes is bad criticism. People complaining that a review reflects the reviewer's personal opinion have a totally misguided approach to what reviews should be. Unless you think game reviews should just be another marketing arm of publishers.
I get the whole philosophy of "Don't bite the hand that feeds you", but if you take that to an extreme you'd get the whole games industry kowtowing to Gamergate nuts.
LOL!Very big of them to put their ego aside and admit when you're wrong
Wait, it got an 8/10 and people are bitching?
This does not sound legit at all
They are more like:
"Sorry for making a true review, we should have went in blind with the hype and called it a masterpiece right out of the gate".
This site is trying way too hard to get clicks. There's no outrage of their Uncharted 4 review besides some idiots on YouTube. Then they do the whole "5 reasons why ROTR is better than Uncharted 4", and now this. Yeah they're trying way too hard.
