VidZone set for release on PSN June 11th

has this been fixed with the patch?

Kinda. It's still set on A but it loads much faster and you can bring up the virtual keyboard while it populates the "A list" so u don't have to wait.

Ok this is interesting. I was checking for downloadable songs and I found one (Poison, by Alice Cooper). Cool thing is there is no actual video file nor ring tone listed there but a "Rock Band" link to the PlayStation Store. You press that, and you are transferred to the "Poison" DLC for Rockband on the PS Store.

I wonder if they'll link it to the Singstore as well, maybe it will once Singstar gets updated to have Singstore access from XMB.

I finally fixed my Vidzone updating freeze, deleting the vidzone app and its "update / save file" and downloading the app again.

Thanks For Making VidZone The Biggest And Best

Thought you got rid of meÂ… Not a chanceÂ… Admit it, you missed me already right? DonÂ’t answer that.

Essentially, IÂ’m back to sayÂ… YOUÂ… AREÂ… AMAZING!!!! Not that I wanna give you a big head or anythingÂ… but you are. Reason? Do I need a reason? Yes? OKÂ…

VidZone is officially the BIGGEST DEDICATED MUSIC VIDEO STREAMING APPLICATION IN THE WORLD!! With over 2,000,000 application downloads and 200,000,000 videos streamed so far!!

I think the correct response is “WOW!” (Or other less broadcast-able superlatives)

Because of you, all of us at VidZone enjoy coming to work every day safe in the knowledge that what we are doing is actually being enjoyed by people all around the world (I know it’s not available everywhere, but you know we are working on it… Feel free to “WHEN POLAND!!” if you feel the need). Because of this, everyone here would like to say thanks in their own personal way. Please forgive the shocking attempts at humor ;)

Louisa Jackson – VidZone for PS3 Chief – “Thanks for all the great feedback in 2009. Lots of surprises in stall 2010!

Nemat Abdela – Account Manger – “Merry Xmas to all you fabulous VidZone users. We’ve got some amazing things in the pipeline in 2010, including more Metal!”

Alex Jakubczyk – Content Manager – “Thank you for all your support this year, join me for a game of mince pie jenga this Christmas in front of VidZone Towers. WHOOOP!”

Jon Pike – Head Of Music – “Keep it real, keep it gangsta, keep it VidZone!”

Matt Collins – Video Production Manager– “Thanks for your unbridled support, happy festive season and may the VidZone be with you.”

Phil Jelley – Audio Product Manager – “Merry Xmas and thank you to all VidZone users! As it’s the festive season, drinks are on Creasey” (BC – That’s me… erm… tap water all round?)

Marcin Waitr – Technical Product Manager – “Thank you all guys for your continuous support, looking forward to entertaining you in 2010! PS. Ben, but seriously, when Poland?” (BC, He actually means it. He wants to use VidZone over Xmas when he’s back home in Poland!)

And the big boss (AKA, The GuvÂ’nor) would like to sayÂ…

Adrian Workman – CEO – “Thank you all for making VidZone into a monster of service in just 6 months!! Maybe we’ll be bigger than YouTube by Dec 2010 and living in the Bahamas. I think I love you more than I love money. YES, all 2m of you.”

From all of us here at VidZone, have an awesome Christmas and an amazing New Year!

so we have an average of 100 vids pro user. which means every user used it 5 hours averagly. i used much much often. maybe 5-10 hours per Week.

Is there a reason VidZone is EU specific [...] ?
The company the runs it is based in the UK, and their internet streaming service (before their PSN venture) was always EU specific. There's nothing necessarily stopping them from starting up in the US, but none of their current music catalogue would be licensed for the US.

It won't be long till there's a VEVO app for the US PS3'ers. VidZone might open a US office this year seeing as it's 2010 now.

I was chosen for one of the VidZone surveys. I'm hoping they listened! :D

hmm i kinda like VidZone.

but there is a serious lack of classic rock and hiphop :( i mean.. only one single Wu-Tang video, and ZERO Tom Petty, what gives?! ohh well at least there's tons of Springsteen videos.

What's with all the empty stuff? Can I expect to see some songs from those artists in the future? It needs a real search engine and they should post updates online so I don't have to go trough the library to see what's new.

The last time I used VidZone, I ended wishing for an option to set so the program would not cut black borders from the videos.
I hate the program auto cutting the borders, some videos already aren't in great quality, when the borders are cut and the video is "zoomed" to fill the screen, it gets even worse.
Also, I enjoy my 4:3 recorded videos with black bars.
I really liked the old way more, but since they can't go back, an option would be just cool.

Tried the UK version, and Oasis was there, so there has to be an other regionthing. Damn, I don't want to change user everytime I use this program.

Is there any reason why some bands appear when I search, but the list of videos is empty?

Sure there is. That band has some video there, but they are not accessible in your region.
Like, for example.... I think Muse (or maybe was another band). I could see some videos using an UK account, but 1 using an Italian one.
Or some Italian bands, when using the UK account I could see the listing for them, but it was actually empty.

So, basically, make various accounts for many regions, if you want to see as much stuff as you want (unless this has already been patched out? I haven't been using VidZone lately) because videos are "region-locked", probably because of licensing problems or something.

I'm a big VidZone fan. Even on the forgotten land of New Zealand, there's plenty to choose from.

there are lots of artists that show up on the search but have no videos, which is a huge tease.

If there was one thing I'd like is a way to cache/pre-buffer playlists. I made one for my housewarming and when I was trialing it, it was buffering quite a lot.
