Folks, just a quick reminder that you don't need to spoiler tag anything that's already aired. Discussion of anything up through Ep 2.03 is fair game. Please continue to tag preview discussion. Thank you.

Another great episode, the Monk's (Athlestan) face when he killed his "brother" was excellent

Borg coming for revenge sets up the next string of episodes quite nicely

Finally watched the first 3 episodes. Loved it all. The awkwardness overwhelmed me when Ragnar tried to deal with the tension between Lagertha and Aslaug by proposing polygamy. I had to pause Hulu for a moment and step away.

What an episode! There is still seven episodes left, but the stakes are already this high. Its a crime that this thread is only 3 pages long.

The show really upped the ante when it comes to antagonists. Both Jarl Borg and the King of Wessex have certainly shown that they are men who shouldnt be underestimated. I previously thought that Jarl Borg was an easy match for Rollo, but the last 10 minutes of the episode certainly changed my mind. Now I am not even sure that Rollo would have survived if the random shield maiden had not intervened.

Well, I'm sure that 4 years of self-pity and alcoholism were not great for Rollo's skills and physique...

Good episode. Alexander Ludwig actually makes for a pretty great Nu Bjorn. He has all of Nathan O'Toole's mannerisms down pat, and I like that he's also injected some of Travis Fimmel's quirks into his performance.

I have a pic of myself with a cast member but will probably post it after the episode that was being filmed that day airs... That sounds reasonable, right?

I really want to see how closely this follows the legendary, pseudo-historical narrative.

After being hurled into King Aella's snakepit, the sons of Ragnar banded together and effectively conquered all of the British Isles except for Wessex.

I like this show.

I just can't get 100% into it. It's just too spastic for my taste. It's much more spastic than Sopranos or Season 1 Sons ever were.

Started season 1 last week and am all caught up now. Lagertha is waaay better than Aslaug, Ragnar done fucked up

This man speaks truth

Rollo's character development has been one of the best parts of the show, was sure he wouldn't make it last week, glad I was wrong.

You know "spastic" isn't an adjective we really use? It refers to mentally handicapped people.

Or is this now a slang word that I'm not aware of? Is it the same thing as "gay" being used to refer to everything someone doesn't like?

Oh I loved when the Wessex King was talking about his time at court with Charlemagne. That was a great historical touch by Hirst to illustrate just how ancient of a setting this is. This is seriously the only show or movie about Vikings that really captures the alien nature of the Vikings compared to the "settled" societies.

Also Travis Fimmel seems to be an amazing actor. This guy should be a star. He owns the role like Andy Whitfield did. His little eye twitches and facial expressions are amazing haha.

too much hotness. that reunion with bjorn and ragnar was so satisfying at the end too.

i have a feeling athelstan will warm up to the king and when ragnar returns he will meet him as a foe :( this show has improved drastically. i think top 5 by the end of the year possibly.

Great episode. Lots of character building and setup.

Yeah, especially with the "bleeding eyes" hallucination earlier. Perhaps they're going to deprogram him so to speak, and make him a "good Christian" again.
He was definitely praying to and thanking some god after he was saved. I'm going to guess that he's already reprogrammed himself for the most part.

Great episode! Some really cool shots. Loved the arrow to the hand and the pickle that Athlestan got himself into. Still finding it hard to warm up to Aslaug.

This newest episode is hot tv. Largatha the hottest strong woman ever. Ragnars son comes across so intense. I'm buying in to everyone's rolls. Can't wait for the next episode. I haven't been this gripped since season 1 game of thrones.

Just wanna say Ragnar is cool as fuck. Last time I thought a guy was this cool was when the King from The Tudors said ," I believe you are with child."

I'm in this pic! The left full head you can see :p Was politely asked to just blur my appearance to let the audience focus on Alexander.

I should pop up a few times. I've been in 3 episodes now but I haven't appeared in a terribly clear manner hah.

I really like Rollo this season too he is a lot better these last two episodes. Hope he can get back into prime fighting mode cause he was a beast.

I really like the look of this show. The blue tint gives it a very authentic feel, and what I really like is the minimalism. Nothing is exaggerated. Even the dudes don't have absurd bodies like 300 that are impossible to maintain.

Love this show.

Was expecting the crucification to be a dream, it shocked me that it was real. Thats what he gets for leaving his man hanging like that .

I'm all for suspension of disbelief, but I can't get my head around Ragnar letting Lagertha walk. Bruv, are you mad?

I'm glad the writers knew how insane this was and made the separation last only a couple episodes. The reunion was amazing, loved the 'who are you?' fake-out.

The Bjorn re-cast has got to be one of the best examples of ageing a character I've ever seen on TV. Not only does he look like young-Bjorn, but he's really captured the mannerisms of his parents. Also, he's not a brat. The moment I saw the 4 years later thing, I thought "they're going to turn Bjorn into a little bitch who hates his father".

Anyone know if Vikings has additional violence in other territories or Bluray? Now that I've heard about the added nudity, I swear I'm noticing scenes where it looks like they've obscured stabbings and digitally cropped shots poorly. The crucifixion really stood out - the tight shot of Athelstan looked very odd.

I'd have to watch the two side by side sometime. My gf had thought there was a few bits in season 1 that she couldn't recall seeing before.

seriously. it's very impressive how similar he is to young bjorn.

i rewatched that reunion scene a few times. man it's crazy how they've only been a few episodes apart yet it feels like a reunion after a couple seasons. they nailed that scene.
