Vincent Vega is such a great character

More of a Vic fan myself.

So laid back and loves to read books on the toilet

He's my dream best friend

And my favorite pulp fiction character, followed by the wolf

Rank your favorite pulp fiction characters
My dream best friend wouldn't leave his fucking Uzi on the kitchen table while he's taking a shit.

I'm gonna say it again. He left his fucking uzi in a room he was not in waiting on a dude to come back and blast his ass.

Well he was a little bit stupid.

Look at the adrenalin shot scene. He really asked Lance if he needs to stab Mia multiple times like a maniac.

Also Jules knew he had to change or he would die. Jules changed.
Vince is dumb and doesn't realize that he needs to change too. He dies.

God gave them a miracle so that he may give them a chance to lead a life of non-violence.

Jules took it, Vincent ignored it.

What was the book?
Modesty Blaise... I don't believe he ever finished it.

Jules eventually died, though.

That's my point though.

Butch was the MVP

Wait, when did Jules die?

Drug addict.
Shoots a guy in a car on the freeway.
Uncultured.
Oblivious to the world around him.
Seriously almost at full mental capacity fucks his boss' wife; his boss, the murdering drug lord.
Leaves a fellow drug addict alone with drugs with the full knowledge that she is untrustworthy, plus it is his job to watch her.

If you thought either Jules or Vega - but especially Vega - were good characters, you need to watch the movie again. Hell, Jules' final monologue is that he's finally realized he's stagnating in life.

That makes him a flawed person, not a bad character.

He's a great character.

Pulp Fiction was his "comeback" movie for a damn good reason. He was fantastic in that and soon after that, he got a lot of good roles.

My favorite Vega moment is when he says it would have been worth the guy keying his car if he had caught him doing it.

I don't think he was kidding. Great character.

Jules is my personal favourite from PF.

Just because someone's an idiot/morally reprehensible doesn't mean they aren't a good (as in well-written/well performed) character.

Vincent is very well-written but poorly acted. Travolta sucks. Michael Madsen or Michael Keaton would have been the best choices for that role. You fucked up, Tarantino!

Vincent, or Butch? Vincent doesn't show a short temper in PF. He does panic, but that's understandable due to the situations he was in. Butch was a fucking psycho.

maybe I used the wrong term, but I don't like how easily he gets offended by anyone criticizing him. I've had friends like him and man, what a huge pain to talk to they were

He was a whiny drug addict who got shot on the job. Yeah man, great character.

That's kind of the point, isn't it? You're sold early on the idea that he's a badass once he 'gets into character' and helps Jules kill the guys who stole the case, but as you spend time with him you learn he's an dopey, careless, poser junkie. It's fine to have unlikable characters as long as you recognize they're well constructed. Vincent fills that role perfectly.

It isn't Vincent's fault Mia ODd.

It is the redhead guy's fault for being out of balloons.

Mia thought it was cocaine because it was in a baggy. If it were cocaine she would be fine. If the heroin were in a balloon she would know it probably wasn't coke.

It is all that damn hippy's fault.

I think he just likes to tease people. It's probably the way he likes to converse. Like his scene with The Wolf.

^lol that ain't gonna happen

probably, it just makes him look like an asshole though, like when he's talking to Butch in the bar

Exactly. What he said doesn't make much sense, only if you think he didn't really understood what was this about, but I don't think that's the case.

Love the Vega brothers. I get that madsen and Travolta are too old now to do it, but Tarrantino should revisit his Vega brothers scripts as a series or comic

What were the ages of the Vega brothers in the script? I wonder if it's possible to do it with younger actors.

still would have been a better choice than Hateful Eight. woof, that film was baaaaad.

Not specified, but it takes place more than four years prior to Reservoir Dogs since it takes place way before Vic was locked up.

I don't get the meme. Why is that particular gif so interesting as to make people use it in all these other gigs?

VV is amazing, as are most of the characters in the film. One of, if not my favorite movies. Just top tier filmmaking.

I love Jimmy the most, though.
