So, there's something some modders who stream do called 'Repainted", where textures in a game are corrupted and overwritten. There was a new guy who joined a group of famous game corruption group 'Vinesauce' recently, and they tried something new together. They apparently have a bot in the chat who is picking random image links people post in the chat and replacing random textures in Super Monkey Ball with the images that are posted in the chat, specifically the bot is linked to Deviantart and people give Deviantart project names and it turns back and replaces with the first result (why people are typing !deviant (random search term/name here).

Fascinating, and clearly with such a thing it can go potentially in NSFW territory (though apparently doing some moderation), but fascinating. I had heard of repainting before, but never a live chat changing the game's textures live as playing. It seems like Twitch streaming experimentation is continuing to become a scene.

EDIT: Maybe predictably, the menus can end up being amazing.

From what I understand, the bot is taking Deviantart search ques and returning the first results off the term that aren't marked Adult 18+, and then replaces a texture in the game. Super Monkey Ball I remember was a game that you could take the Gamecube disk out while it ran and the game would still run, so I guess modifying the texture files don't affect the game until it loaded the next level, which is when the textures change too.

It seems he is about to switch from Super Monkey Ball to another unannounced game to do this to.

Wow, they're starting to REALLY break the games textures now.

The opening cinematic was so broken, textures were going spastic, hard to take in a picture, but;
