Violent standoff between Cops and Protesters in Baltimore

Perhaps not, but hey when the irritation of their world is teaching them that no one cares about their lives, because of mere skin colour, don't expect them to care about your mere things.
On point, couldn't have said it better.

Your argument has actually changed from post to post, but to reply to this latest bit of brilliance, No, I am not surprised either, I'm just not pretending that there aren't negative consequences. Your naive world view is that trashing a CVS only hurts a corporation and not anybody else, and therefore, trashing a CVS is okay. I was hoping to show you that, well, no, real people are also effected negatively when an even evil corporation like CVS is trashed and it doesn't help anybody.

But, I'm always against opportunistic looters, so call me crazy.

Do you care about black people being killed by police unjustly?

Edit: And I already said I do empathize with employees and people who need medicine or do you only cherrypick certain parts of my post for your pleasure?

I do agree that the protesters should be directing their aggression towards the police, and not local businesses.

I really hate when people say "There's a right/better way to do this." in the news. Tell the cops that shit first, or is the murder of black men just by the books?

All it took was violent in the title to bring you guys out since a lot of you were missing in the thread about the guy being murdered.

It's surreal reading this thread and seeing you all bickering back and forth about this while I'm just sitting here worried about getting home safely after work.

I really need to read the rest of his post, I gotta know the reasoning behind burning a bucket of Chicken. I know it's racist, but just so strange.

The guy's point isn't all that bad(even though he sounds like a hothead egghead) but then he has to show his true racist colors with the symbolism.

Do you care about black people being killed by police unjustly?

Yes, very much so.

*edit*

And actually, no, I wasn't cherrypicking, you added that caveat in there only after I pointed out that people have prescriptions at CVS. So, really, I'd consider this a small success that you can open your eyes a little wider.

Please stop with this bullshit strawman.

whats strawman about that?

More people are upset about the rioting, than why the rioting is happening. No one seems to be putting 2 and 2 together that this is what happens when you give the population no legal recourse of action, or protection. Black people are being gunned down daily, and no change is coming from our peers. Why does it take a riot to "get a message" out? The message is to stop people from being shot like dogs without reason. This isn't some sort of epiphany the nation has to have. Its quite simple to hold the justice system responsible and reform it. Very simple. But none of that has happened.

All that has happened is people telling black people to calm down about their children getting killed. That is literally it.

More people participate in these type of threads when its a riot, to wag their fingers and debate about how rioting solves nothing. As if people in the thread believe that rioting is the #1 way to do anything. Rioting is a byproduct of oppression. Why people can't see this is obvious. America is a racist country, its not news.

There are no options to get America to understand its police force is targeting black people, and getting away with it every time. Its historic what happens when you oppress people. Why its confusing to people is lost on me.

Institutionalized racism thanks you for your continued apathy toward it and focus on "proper protesting"

So it's better for them to sit and take it? Better yet, get a job on the force, or become an elected official?

People are mad as shit. No one is condoning hard core violence to innocent bystanders but ffs STOP. A business or two getting taken down is not even close to what happened to spark this off.

So is violent protesting the answer?

*oh*

i choose to believe this is a joke.

Even after numerous people have explained that violent riots have brought change or been the big stepping stone to bringing change. Don't pretend we haven't been out peacefully protesting for years without any change.

Shit can always get worse, though. That's also important to remember.

We need powerful white people to speak out when black people get killed by the police. That might change things.

Then you wouldnt have these riots.

White people hold the power.

I agree with you on who holds the power, but do you honestly believe that the rioters are going to listen to a patronizing white dude to not riot?

Huh. Imagine how we feel in every topic about a black guy being murdered by police. Miss me with that.

Join in?

Just kidding, sit tight, look up where it's going off and go around it if poss.

Of course it does. Many American politicians likely value businesses and things with monetary value over actual black lives. So when things start getting destroyed, bills start mounting, and businesses start complaining, of course they'll listen. How they respond is what remains to be seen, but if it's not in the right direction, the violence, looting, riots and civil unrest, will naturally continue. Probably heighten.

How do you know people weren't following this story?

Just because you don't post in a thread?

That's a silly way of assuming someone's involvement with this story.

Do you think you can ride with a fellow coworker? Or have a family member or friend pick you up? Best not to drive near the areas alone. Stay safe.

Destroying and looting your own community.Might as well just start punching yourself in the face while you at it.

Thanks, I don't think I'll have to go through any of the trouble spots but it's all too close to my place for comfort.

imagine a world where you wouldn't have to worry about riots, because black people weren't being murdered by police all the time.

Crazy.

Stay safe.

Worse than systematic unpunished murder and a fucked legal system?

Probably not systemically across the state/country: shit is already pretty fucked up for a lot of the people in places like this, but in terms of local communities you can always lose more jobs, more public services, and more dignity.

called this during the martin and brown deaths, any accumulated anger would only increase every time another death like this is made well known through social media. Then people ask why some black folk are mad. Hopefully the generation in their teens now know some of the similar shit but worse that was going down decades ago. No more "oh we didnt hear this, i thought everyone was treated fairly" bullshit

Also, did we find how his spine was broken ? From the magic van? its fucking disgusting this isnt even 100% clear

Have you seen how segregated Chicago is? That's without us rioting. It's already happened and continuing to happen. Hence the rioting.
