Why would you want Virtual On on DS? It's just a button mashing game.

It's more a stick mashing game.
With the way I used to play I'm surprised the twin sticks at the local arcade still worked as well as they did.

I remember wanting Virtual On 4-Force to come to consoles.

That never happened. Instead, we got Virtual On Marz. >:[

i couldn't imagine VO on DS. Granted, the Saturn version ran at a rather low res, but it's just too much detail for such a small screen. The button layout would work rather well in theory, but you really need sticks to get the full effect for the game.

Split screen looks pretty nice. It won't be a huge loss, given that the original didn't even run in high-res.

Will there be any kind of system link?

Yeah, it supports linked matches over LAN.

You can turn on/off alpha blending to smooth out those dithered explosion effects.

Silly question, but i've been out of import gaming for a while. Are they rereleasing the twin sticks? i can't imagine playing this without twin sticks, and i can't imagine this selling without access to twin sticks, especially in Japan.

I'm pretty sure they aren't.

The original Virtual On is very playable with a pad, though, I'm sure. VOOT's a slightly different story.
