Out of all the VNs I played The House In Fata Morgana, Zero Escape Trilogy and Danganronpa are my favorites

So... the issue is if you use guides you ruin why it is so highly rated, the best advice I can give is that early on nothing you do matters, just make the choices you want to make. If you finish a few times and don't get what the fuss is about, read a guide then to get it moving.

Also the true ending does not exist in this game as that takes place in the sequal (don't look that up, it ruins it) the issue with Muv-Luv is it is one of the greatest visual novels ever made, but explaining why ruins that eye opening moment. And yes playing this game is what makes the sequal and it's ending so amazing, as it's a direct continuation, skipping to it is pointless.

I went into it blind with a fan translation back in the day before companies started selling these. So you where lucky to get a game every 6 months, so you played it no matter how good or bad it was... the fact I'm telling you to play this is in a way ruining why this game is so good.

But my God it's so hard to try and get people to just play it without them doing research and ruining it for themselves. I really wish there where more VN's like it.

yep thats the 3 main games, Alternative is the ending I was talking about, with eclipse being a side story that takes place at the same time as alternative.

Keep in mind this came out in 2003, the same year homeworld 2 did, and think about how even 21 years later how static VN's generally are in comparison.

People tend to rag on extra, but it's very important in getting to know the characters and vastly superior to most VN's full stop alone, it takes it's time, and does it really well, something many games tend to skip over these days.

I’m playing Muv Luv Alternative right now and I’m bored out of my skull. I loved Extra and Unlimited but this is a neverending slog. If I get another infodump about robot tactics I’m going to go mad.

It's a great anime, but it's rated 18+ on Disney+ due to lots of violent and gory scenes, so I would definitely not recommend it to pre-teens. Oh, and there's also some nudity and fan service in the first few episodes... so yeah, avoid this one for at least a few more years, I would say.

I'm so confused. Is the whole game about two assholes shouting and hitting eachother? Then some blue haired weirdo shows up at school and apparently she has a load of military helicopters piloted by a seal team of celebrity chefs. Oh and she has a sword. At school.

Shiravune has announced the release dates for Real Anime Situation! 2 and NYO-NIN-JIMA -My New Life in Charge of a Tropical Island-. In a surprising situation, the company revealed both visual novels will be available in English on June 24, 2024 (the 25th by Japan timezone).

Real Anime Situation! 2 is a visual novel by Jitaku Studio and in Japan it’s called Real Eroge Situation! 2 instead. The uncensored edition is available for pre-order on JAST, MangaGamer, and Johren. A Steam version will be available on the same day.

The game tells the story of Tooru Seo, a young man who has a very active imagination and ends up writing about very ridiculous (horny) scenarios. One day, his classmate Chikage finds his stories and asks him to stimulate her creativity as she’s a mangaka currently in a slump.

The title was one of the winners of the 2020’s Moe Awards in Japan and received an anime adaptation. Besides the beautiful student president hiding her mangaka life, the protagonist can get involved with the hug-lover Nao Rindou, or the cosplaying childhood friend Rino Tokitou.

Meanwhile, NYO-NIN-JIMA -My New Life in Charge of a Tropical Island- is a visual novel by PacoPaco Soft.It’s the first title by the company to get an English release, and it’s possible to pre-order it via JAST, MangaGamer, and Johren. It’ll also have a Steam version.

In NYO-NIN-JIMA, we play as Shoichi Harama. After being fired by his company, he moves to a southern island and has the chance of starting life anew managing the island.

NekoNyanSoft has announced that the visual novel Aoi Tori has finally been approved for its Steam release. However, a specific date has not yet been decided upon, though it’s likely to be this month.

Further, notable alterations had to be made for the Steam release. The publisher had to “make many modifications,” leading to them needing to cut all routes except for the common and Mary’s. Still, there will be a free patch to restore this content.

Aoi Tori was recently released in the West via the following online stores:

Kagura Games

Moreover, several changes were made to the text of the Setam version to avoid being banned. Thankfully, these, too, will be restored with the free patch, which will also fully demosaic the title.
