[Vita] Gravity Rush/Daze - 15 min gameplay video

Just ordered this, being the only game I'm really interested in atm. Should be here by the time I get my vita. :)

I've been a pretty vocal supporter of this title since it was first revealed, it just has that new I.P glow about it that's been woefully unseen this generation
Really really pleased it appears to be the best received (critically) title so far released for the Vita, this is what we need more of, not Uncharted .5 - I wish Sony had more faith, they're always been pretty keen to get new I.Ps released each generation, and yet it's possible this won't even get a retail release in Europe, ridiculous!

I hope it has some good legs, it could have the Demon's Souls effect and have people continue to purchase it because of word of mouth

Anyway, super hyped about it, it's the thing that has me considering a Vita

Yeah really, great game presentation and I was astounded by the art direction. Takes me back to last gen.

Question: If I import from China, will it have english subtitles, or japanese subtitles instead of being completely in chinese? I can read japanese slowly, but I can't understand a word when they talk fast.

Chinese version is Chinese, no other languages included.

Gamekult.com Import Review

We were keeping an eye on it since the last E3 and it did not disappoint our expectations, because Gravity Daze is as beautiul and original as funny to play and memorable. It might have follow the wrong way of DLC , have some minor technical problems and a questionable choice in the way of using the gyro, but the new Keichiiro Toyama title simply market a cosmic journey to the border of several worlds. Needless to say if Sony decides to probe the players for a sequel, we will answer without hesitation: "No rest for Gravity Kitten".

+ original gameplay and universe
+ memorable characters
+ outstanding visual design
+ incredible music
+ weirdo sequences
+ the comic book style cutscenes
+ Kat and Raven

- the camera sometimes struggles to follow
- loadings and significant slowdowns
- the gyro handling
- the DLC...

8/10 (editor's pick)

Is it time for a review thread then?

OT is coming along. I loafted for a bit, and kind of put Diamond_444 (who's doing some original art) on the spot this week.

In the mean time I've actually been waiting a bit for more GAF opinion, and some non-Famitsu/Dengeki reviews to show up.

Considering the package is pretty damn complete, I have no problem with DLC.

Load times are long only when switching from a sectioned off 'level' to the city, because the city is one giant world with nearly no loading (save for like, .5-1 second moments between areas) regardless of where you go.

I only encountered noticeable slowdown in a single area, though it seemed like that stemmed from a Nevi getting stuck in a wall.

Toyama responded to my tweet in which I asked why there's no option to retry a challenge, the only real annoyance I have with the game so far.
He said they didn't include it because of the release schedule, as it was unexpectedly bothersome to add. Bummer. I wonder if he responds to my next one, in which I asked if it's possible to fix this with a patch.

My Gravity Daze JP ver. just arrived from Play Asia. The only thing to slightly dampen my enthusiasm is that they didn't send the pre-order art booklet.

Oh, and the fact I'll only get the Vita on the 22nd. :P Buying games before getting the system, a slight character flaw among many lol.

The loading times are too long to retry. I ignore the challenge if I failed it on my first attempt.

I might be a little late to the party on this, but this game looks incredible. I mean really, of all the games I've seen running on the Vita, this game just stands alone. Can't wait till the US release of this, because I'm buying it day 1.

I think this was the right place to post? but 2hours ago the developer posted this on twitter

Pretty cool that my Gravity Daze trophies registered as Gravity Rush trophies, all already translated into English.

Is it possible if you could tweet him and ask if it's possible to patch out the "network disabled" option when someone is playing the game?

I'd really like a dev to talk about why they would use this.

I want proof of that release date. I've seen poor Yoshida answering the same question numerous times with the answer "launch window"...

EU isn't getting physical copy, only PSN release.. so ill get it on PSN next week, and wait for Asia ver physical copy :)

if this is really coming next week, I definitively declare Vita as the best launch line up a console has ever seen.

The day after I get my Vita I'll be playing an Uncharted game, Wipeout, SuperStardust, and one of the best games to come out of the abyss that is SCEJ in years?

Edit: awww damn, EU site has TBC still. Please be true ;___;

If Gravity Rush really does come out on the 23rd then that'll work out brilliantly. I've got my Wi-Fi and card pre-ordered, but no games as of now. I really want Golden Abyss but refuse to pay the £35+ that all retailers are selling it for. If all goes according to plan, I'll get my Vita, sign in to PSN instantly, download Gravity Rush and play the best game of the launch roster (and potentially of the year) as my introduction to Sony's new handheld. Couldn't ask for a better first impression than that.

It just sucks that we still get no physical release of it here. If I like the game enough then I'll buy it again by importing from America. PlanetAxel are wholly dependable for that sort of thing.

That was the first thing I did when he replied. Sadly, no answer since then.

Yeah, it's probably a certification requirement to shut off the networking when not in use, over battery concerns. The pop-up message looks like a system-level message. If I haven't missed my guess, it's not going anywhere... Though having the option to skip displaying it might be nice.

Ah, my bad. I wasn't thinking when reading the post I quoted. I asked him about a patch all right, but my question was "Is it possible to add the retry challenge option in a patch?".
Sorry for misunderstanding.
Is it the highest/most rated Vita game on PSN yet?
Yeah, it seems so. Hot Shots Golf is no. 2 (or so I think).

That's too bad.

I really hope this is not a system level cert thing because this makes cross game chat completely pointless.
I want Sony to know I'd rather have a choice of having my battery die out early while using cross game chat instead of not being able to use it at all.

Gameblog.fr Import Review

+ outstanding visual design
+ beautiful comic books
+ a lot of missions
+ the music, perfect
+ insane imaginary sequences
+ great ending
+ the feeling of living an incredible adventure
+ flying in the air is so exhilarating

- the useless gyro controls
- the loadings can be a bit annoying
- the camera during bosses

5/5 (editor's pick)

Amazon and EB say late May, so...I wouldn't expect it anytime soon.

Def. worth the wait though. In the meantime, enjoy Wipeout, Lumines, Rayman, etc. :)

Haha, why does that review say Alvion developed Gravity Rush?

But I would love to see an open world, action-adventure game in the vein of Malicious on the Vita.

Just finished the game. Good gravy, it leaves you wanting more. It's a good thing there are side-quests and challenge missions to tide over 'till the DLC arrives.

This needs a sequel, damnit. No rest for Gravity Kitten.
