Vita has no games... compared to?

Not having the exact same game on other console and I don't mean "it's not the same game it's not the same content"

This exact sentence seems like double talk to me. You're living up to your avatar.

So which is it? Is it a port when:

The game exists with no enhancements over the original

OR WHEN

The game purely exists on another platform literally

Just by going off wiki. Everyone here says its not, so I must be mistaken. But reading the plot on there, it looks like a re-make.

Sorry all. Didn't mean to offend. LM must indeed be a sequel.
First sentence on Wikipedia:
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, known in Japan as Luigi Mansion 2 (ルイージマンション2 Ruīji Manshon Tsū), and in Europe and Australia as Luigi's Mansion 2, is an action-adventure video game developed by Next Level Games and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS, and is the sequel to the 2001 game Luigi's Mansion for the Nintendo GameCube.

Different characters, plot, and environments. LM has the SAME story with more things added to it. Thus, a re-make.

There's nothing wrong with re-makes. If I offended people, I'm sorry. I just read the plot synopsis on wiki, and compared it to the original. They're just making the original game better.

Sequel; A published, broadcast, or recorded work that continues the story or develops the theme of an earlier one.
Something that takes place after or as a result of an earlier event.

You don't get to change the dictionary. It is not all good, baby.

LM - 2

There isn't really a plot... is what may be tripping you up. I mean it's the same, but it's like saying that the plot in every mario game is to save the princess. It's true but that doesn't make them the same games.

A port is when it's a game is ported onto another console there's nothing complicated about this. Even enhanced ports are still ports. That's all there is to it.

read the plot and compare it to the original. You can see why I thought it was redone. Besides, I already admitted defeat.

itsallgood.
The Wikipedia article doesn't mention it (at least in a clear fashion), but timeline-wise, LM2's events occur after the first game.

you're being purposely obtuse. Uncharted 2 has the same plot as Uncarted 1. REMAKE!

It is all good. Bringing out dictionary definitions isn't a nice way to carry a conversation. You should chillax, my argument was flawed. I was corrected, the end. You don't have to resort to antics to get your point accross.

But... but you were wrong. Alright. Conceded. Everybody be happy.

I sure am! You sure told me. I listed the game as a remake because I read the plot from wikipedia and it reads the same as the original. I made a mistake. I admitted it was a mistake. It's over.

It goes without saying that it really falls down to preferences. I'm" coping both a Vita and 3DSXL Black Friday because I'm" a cheapskate but I can't wait to get my hands on all of those titles that'll be out by then.

On topic though: Vita has a lot of great games and the sheer catalog it posses (not even including PS+) is a good value for any gamer on a budget. Vita/PSP/PS1/PS3/Indie games all in one is pretty damn cool, not to mention the wide range of genres presented on the console (not PSP level yet but it has the potential to get there) and ports if you prefer portability.

On the issue of ports, it can be used to prop up a console but it can't define it. I don't really know what could sell a Vita to point where it'd be considered a commercial success; there aren't a lot of options or "system sellers" Sony can pick from. It'll have to be a collaborative effort of exclusive titles I guess. I'm" still surprised that Uncharted didn't move units or at least long term selling value, especially when you at the business the mainline entries did.

Lets add some more sizzle to this debate.

Should ports of PS3 games even be considered ports since the ps4 isn't backwards compatible and we all are throwing our PS3s in the trash in a few months?

I agree that it depends on taste. The truth is I already can play the vast majority of Vita games I'd buy, so I haven't been motivated enough to buy one yet (despite being a handheld enthusiast - at the moment I don't think Vita complements 3DS in the same way PSP complemented DS).

If Sony decided to bring Uncharted 2 to the Vita, I don't care what you call it. It could be an exact duplicate with no extra content and I'd still buy.

I love the HD collections, remakes, PSP and PSOne games, but I do want new games that are made for Vita specifically. Compered to 3DS's list for 2013, Vita is lacking.

I love the Vita, hardware wise it's like the best handheld ever. But your list contains mostly multiplats, ports, or new entries into franchises that aren't exactly re-inventing the wheel (i.e Lumines, Wipeout)

There is no real killer apps on it yet. Soul Sacrafice is pretty awesome, but there are not many titles like it.

I got tons of PS1 and PSP games on my Vita, so I find my purchase worth it to play those in a really nice portable way with a full control scheme and on a glorious OLED screen (hell I would have probably bought a Vita just for that stuff), but it is still lacking proper support.

Dumbest thing I've read this year.
I was going to post a response, but I realized some people might on the last page. Again, I was mistaken.

OT. I just think Sony needs to actually show us they still care. Not just a few nods a year but acknowledgement at all game related events. Maybe an unprecedented partnership of their own like Nintendo and Sega. Show us it has a future that is bright to look forward to.

Yep. Like if that SCEJ teaser ends up being for a Vita exclusive game that is from a decent studio and has a good budget behind it, I will start to believe they have faith in it.

It's easy to push the PS4, and I know a lot of people who don't care about handhelds don't even want to see them focus on the Vita, but it could sure use some more exclusive built specifically for it.

As a future Vita owner, I have zero interest in Soul Sacrifice.

I didn't care about SS much when I first heard about it. It does have an interesting story etc though.

It's about 100 times meatier than Gravity Rush.

I wonder if Sega fans were like this near the end.
I remember hearing how Sega was getting out of the hardware business at Saturn's launch. Those folks were sharp as tacks and 100% accurate. Only relating the "cold reality" of the situation they wanted to see.

I have a feeling not too many are going to be doing that.

After PS4 picks up a little and Sony wants people moving, they'll release some PS3 titles that are uprez vita ports (of decent games). Makes the difference between PS4 and PS3 even greater for hardcore type (while also making good games for the vita, which gets them earlier).

I wouldn't be surprised if GR 1+2+? comes to PS3 in a year or 2 in a collection.

If you take note, most if not all of the vita game list that people put up, usually includes psp/ps1 titles (and sometimes, psmobile games) while you rarely see dsiware/ds titles/virtual console titles when people post their 3ds game list.

Hey guys am I doing it right???

Vita has no games.

Hell No !!!!!!!!! You put Little deviants in the place of Persona 4 golden...

You didn't happen to by Zelda:OoT, Starfox, or Luigi's Mansion did you? Because if you did, your standards can't be that high seeing as how ALL those would be considered ports.

edit: or any of the 3DS fighting games.
Nope. I actually only have SF4 and I got that for $10 at BB. Plus i didnt buy a 3DS for SF4. Don't have any of the other games yet, but vita doesn't have enhanced remakes, it has ports...

I think you should stop and educate your ignorance. Read up on a review and stop making yourself sound stupid...

Edit: just saw latest posts where you retracted your statement...good on you...

Going through this thread, I have realised one thing again. Allright two, besides every time true fact that we are defending companies.

Vita folks love to bring up those worldwide Assasins Creed sale numbers. But 3DS folks almost never bring up those third party titles which completely outsold AC. How so? Just curious, I dare you starting sales list-wars.

A port is when it's a game is ported onto another console there's nothing complicated about this. Even enhanced ports are still ports. That's all there is to it.

So, for example, Sound Shapes on PS3 is a port, but it's not a port on Vita? It started on Vita for much of it's development cycle before coming to PS3.

What about a game like Need for Speed Most Wanted, that came out the same time on PS3, 360, PC, and Vita. Is the Vita version a port despite it coming out on the same day?

Wait wait wait wait.

Vita has folders now???

Shit. Oh well, 3DS had a good run.

Doesn't the 3DS also have folders?

I thought Assassin's Creed on the Vita had high sales because it was bundled with the system? Or was that something else?

Personally I would love a Vita there are several games I want on it, but when I get $270 spare dollars I'm going to be buying a 3DS and a few games first.

The 3DS. Not to mention DS and PSP. And every other console except maybe the Wii U.

Probably because ACIII was bundled with it.

Dragon Quest VII broke 1m, no? Monster Hunter 3U is more than 2m currently I think. Terry's Wonderland was 800k the last time I saw it's numbers. Kingdom Hearts 3D must be beyond 600k as well.

How many Vita games are releasing (or planned to be released) by this holiday season?
Wouldn't how many annual releases a specific platform has make for a good indicator of how well the system is performing?
